mines started doing this 2 -- going on next week. I hear you on the James Bond smoke screen, mine's a bugger for it. I heard somewhere it could be coz the silencers are too big and they collect moisture/lakes
Hi all,
When applying full lock (either direction) whilst moving the car slowly from cold, I get this god awful banging sound - it feeds back thru the steering and seems to actually jump the car sideways slightly. Pretty sure its coming from the front left - its going in the garage soon...
Hmm well that certainly eases my mind. I guess if I kept the original I could always whack it back on the motor --- as long it wasn't get towed to the Ren garage lol
Yeah heard the 182 was much better than the 172 - was lookin at some HKS headers (not for clios!) and they had link pipes running across the 4 pipes, apparently helps with low down torque - something the clio needs! Wasn't sure if perhaps a larger bore was possible, or an improvement
Basically is this worth it for my 182? Would work out £600-ish - or am I better off going to Hayward & Scott? -- and before you say it I don't want to go down the de-cat route!
--- on the same note, had a golf Mk1 1.1N many moons ago, got so miffed with its crapness I kicked the zorst off in a fit of rage - NASCAR sound, fooked banger performance lol
Ah Fishy Dave, I'm Jim hoad's mate from the Coupe forum. You took me round Bedford on the trackday - so impressed I went and got a 182 cup!! Hope you're well mate. Hoady's coupe's now kicking out something like 300lb/ft!!!
just got back from the stealers - bloke didn't know his a5rehole from his elbow - you think they could just look it up on their database - so I have to wait on the part numbers
cheers for the suggestion - powder coating would eat into my 'soon to be tuned' budget lol.
So - final question, do the spokes protude past the face of the wheel - if you see what I mean...
Oh oh oh and K-tec sell wheels at £125+tax per corner, cheaper or dearer than stealers?
Yep 182 with the cup packs - would my current tyres fit? My cars only got 4000 medium-paced miles on it, don't really want to start shelling out for new boots as well
Hi all,
Are these called Turini's?
Also are they the same offset etc as the normal 182 Cup wheels? Thinkin of changing mine over - do the spokes on the Turini's protrude like the 182 cup wheels - forever curbin mine due to old tosspieces in kraut-wagons and sodding people carriers 'owning'...
Got my issue this morning :-)
Slightly off topic - is there such a handling performance margin between the 182 cup and the trophy. I.e could i justify going to the stealers and buying all the sachs necessaries???
Yeah, I'm wondering if perhaps I should my tyres nitrogen filled - from experience in the past this tends to keep the pressures almost spot on most of the time. 182 isn't fun to drive after a nice long 2hr night shift I can tell yer!! Perhaps I should get a V6
;-)
Chaps,
Got a 3month old 182 with the Cup packs. Ever since I've had it, the car seems to pull all over the shop under braking - even during light applications. Generally it seems to really follow the road - tramlining in a sense I suppose. Are they supposed to do this?? I can understand...
call me crazy ... or stoooopid, but I've never understood why these tuning companies don't just use a Megane 225 engine - surely its the same block and would drop straight in?!
As an aside has anyone managed to extract some real power from one of these lumps yet?
