I drove a 197 followed by a 200, there is a huge difference in the spread of torque and the 200 also felt significantly nippier with better peak power (both cars were less than 4k miles on). The 200 definitely feels a better sorted car.
Put it this way, I thought about a 197 when they came out...
I would agree with Dave, but we have to remember he's 17 and it will at least be a nice project to turn it from a shed to good clean car.
Have to say the 106 dechavved would have been my preference :o
GPMotorsport - What spoiler did you buy and have painted? Was it the K-Tec Sprint 3? It looks completely standard but much nice IMO than the Cup spoiler.
If so please let me know how it was fitted, any drilling or just bonding? Did you fit it yourself once painted?
Cheers - I'm probably...
Much prefer the clean look, if anyone is planning on removing the sticker make sure you warm it up or at least put the rear window heater on... You don't want to accidently damage the filaments
I cannot stand them (in fact not keen on any stickers in car windows), did anyone else remove it within the first day of picking up their Clio? :D
Perhaps I'm in a minority here and you like them?
I think people with/without wear should declare their weight, the seats are definitely tight for those *cough* larger chaps amongst us :o
...Of course on the other hand Recaro should have made them robust enough to last for people of all sizes!
My Recaros are like new after 2200 miles, although as with all bucket seated cars I make an effort not to rub on them (just drop in), I also only weigh 12 stone so not too much contact on the edges :)
I briefly looked at the manual in mine and found no evidence of this function, held the buttons in and nothing different to normal happened, though the first screen that does the oil level etc might be what it refers to?
I toyed with the decision of Trophy -v- 200 for a while, decision forced itself because the Trophy I looked at in Halsted (Essex) sold before I decided :(
No idea how bad the depreciation is going to be but it's certainly going to be more of a hit than the difference in economy.
First two tanks fulls I did nearly 1000 miles on a trip between Ipswich and Lyon in France, the trip said 33mpg but in reality on the fill up and calculate it was actually 34.5mpg. The trip computer has not been accurate in favour of the car once (now on 2200 miles), although it is pretty close...
You will def get more than 25mpg in a 200, mine has averaged between 31-36mpg on a tankfull with mixed driving. The depreciation however will be more of a concern in the comparison :o
