Hi
I seem to have fixed the missfire..... Well almost!
The car seems to be fine when you start it from cold. The car will also be fine to drive when hot but as soon as you turn the car off/restart it will missfire for a couple of mins unless you thrash the balls of it! The revs will also...
Hi
My car has developed a missfire problem on idle and say after traffic lights. It also holds back and then suddenly goes forward. At idle the car will be fine for say 30 secs but then the revs start to drop to 400-500 rpm for 10 secs then back to 1500 rpm. I have changed the iscv and this...
:S When I got water in my plugs + missfire happened it was because my head gasket was blown! I would get it pressure tested to knock that off the list.
Although if its only happening after rain I could not tell you. Not a common prob afaik.
The williams engine has 150 bhp and the 16v has 137 which = 13 bhp more.
I would say de cat, exhaust, air filter in original box (or a good ik like the viper) uprated cams, new pulleys, 4 branch manifold, and maybe getting the head gas flowed.
Hi
I drove to asda today to get some cash. After getting what I needed I tried to start the car and found that it would nearly fire up but not enough to get it going (apart from it turning over) I have found if you hold the key for around 20/30 secs it will start no bother! I tried this...
You say you will take them off if you are asked to. Thing is if you get a nasty cop etc they will give you a fine and 3 points on the spot + ask you to remove them.
Good work anyway.
Some of you may remember a couple of weeks ago that I was having trouble with reverse gear after changing engines. I got my car back from the garage today and the report was bad! They told me that something has either moved in the gearbox or a selector spring has gone meaning the linkage goes...
Yup we tried that :(
When the car is lowered again and then no gear like I said. You can get it so far into reverse but then hits a brick wall as if it does not exist!
Thats been tried. The gearbox seems to be to low or something tho as its not geeting into reverse unless I lift the gearbox up a couple of mm. Can you adjust mounts?
Ever since I got a new engine put in my car I have not had reverse. I know reverse is there cos I used my old g/b. We have played with the linkage for ages and found that if you place a jack on the end of the linkage under the g/box and support it you can select reverse! as soon as the jack...
Its at theirs atm. Thing is they are just a couple of m8s who like doing car work in free time. They are running out of options so thats why I am asking.
