Eagles on the front, and Dunlop SP Sport 9000s on the rear - good balance - rear grippy, front slides a bit - well balanced, throw it into a corner and you can get 4 wheel drift, in a front wheel drive car!
I've running Mintex extreme pads, and yeah, they can be a little noisey when cold (never squeaky though). Stopping power is pretty impressive though - have bedded them in well and truely now (400+miles over 4 weeks).
As for dusty - not in my expereince. They're MUCH cleaner than the standard...
My old man has one of them Snooper GPS "safety camera" detectors. He has it set so it displays his speed all the time. Sometimes if he looses the signal, it displays zero on his speedo, and then suddenly regain the signal and the speed "jumps". I think the highest he's had it jump to was 320mph...
As said, day to day driving, you'll notice hardly any difference. It depends if you take it on the track - you'll notice the difference then - two or three corners of hard cornering, and you'll have lost your branding off the side walls of the tyres - LOADS of flex!
When you think that the...
Shouldn't do - it'd be classed as a kit car - you'd have to re-register it mind - the lump and the chasis number wouldn't match so would be a headache come sale time.
I agree with GordonD. Same power, would equal same quarter mile time.
HOWEVER, it all depends with how the power is delivered. If you think of a Turbo, it's gonna give you a little turbo lag to begin with, and then dump the power in one big lump. Where as an NA is going to give you give your...
When I was looking at upgrading my HU, I looked at all the options. From memory, (I'm going back a few months now), there were three manufacturers that I could find that did units that you could buy an interface for; Sony, Kenwood & Alpine. HOWEVER, only certain HU are compatable - it's best to...
Sorry - forgot to add, yeah, the adaptor does the display also. It doesn't show the track name of a USB track though, but that's a small loss. It does display cd track number, and RDS radio info.
Depends if you wanna go FF on your coolent. 50% Glycol, 50% water is the most efficeient, but would cost you a small fortune. That's what they do in some of the race cars.
And if you're wondering where you can get Glycol from, try your local health food store!
They're LEDS, and they're not your average leg-mounted LEDS. They're them horrible panel-mounted ones, that are a pig to unsolder. There is a guide on here (somewhere!) that says how to change them. Believe me, it's not an easy job though - full dash disasembly, and then re-soldering of the...
Performance wise, nope. All the oil breather is for is releaving the pressure inside the manifold. Siting wise, I am not 100% sure. I'm not sure on the size of the filter, but in theory it should be able to be mounted behind the engine block - where the tube exits the manifold. Failing that, I...
I doubt you'd get much difference in power on a 1.2 mate, even if it is a 16v!
Airflow only really improves bigger lumps - that's where the chavs fall down.
Agree totally. I'm in the process of making a nice customer Aluminium enclosure for my K&N 57i. Yes, I know I should buy a purpose made one, but I'm a little tight for cash at the moment!
The breather (at present) is diverted into the air inlet on the intake. I'm in the process of enclosing my induction kit, and fitting a cold air feed - nice cool, dense air for my engine!
The theory is however, all my hard work would be undone if I continue to let the warm, oil filled air into...
MRBILLYUK - the fountain of all knowledge!
Thanks mate - I'll check it anyway at lunch time - just to be on the safe side.
I don't suppose you happen to know the diameter of the oil breather pipe while you're at it?
Sound. So just to confirm, all I really need is a Slicon elbow, with ID 75mm? (I'm correct in thinking that's the throttlebody dimension?) Then it's just a case of connecting it up to my air filter?
The Samco one you can get from K-Tec Racing (unless I'm very much mistaken and they have stopped doing it in the last two days!)
Cheers for the info.

Hi all,
I'm looking at changing my inlet feed for my air intake, but I'm struggling to find a supplier. All the ones I have found on the 'net have the inlet tube for the crank case oil breather, but I was going to fit an external oil breather. Does anyone know of a company or supplier that does...
Hi Daz,
I had the same thing happen on my old Astra - the metal gets brittle after a length of time, and can eventually snap off. Just be thankful you found out about it before you did any damage to the car!

You're absolutly right. When you think about the fact that the contact patch on ANY tyres is only about the size of a foot-print, it's well worth forking out extra for the rubber on the corners!
I've heard some right horrer stories over the years!

I used to work for Goodyear Dunlop and have to say I've never heard of Fullrun tyres. Doing a search for it Fullrun is a chinese brand, that I've honestly never heard of (and I worked in the Retail side of Goodyear Dunlop!)
Fulda is the low-budget tyres that Goodyear Dunlop own, but they...
