LOL you dirty old men! I was there with Amanda but got there a bit late, just in time to catch the first BTCC race which was wicked. We didnt even have a zoom lens or binoculars and she spotted VBH doing the interviews down on the grid... but to an old hand like me whos chatted to her at Santa...
LOL RSTDL I didnt see what Neil said, but I think youre getting a bit over-excited :Dsaying you can tune any old turd to hit sub 6 seconds (0-60 I assume?)
If you delve into it properly and *do* the mods, *try* stuff out, youd see that it is not that simple. At least not in a Clio or any front...
Well you said it Wongy old pal. Couldnt agree more.
And Id say those times are Scooby chasing to be honest. Modded ones are quick, but just for a laugh I went out on a test drive of a new WRX yesterday, bloody hell did I walk away disappointed or what? OK it pulls tidily when you put your foot...
Well its certainly another option. And seeing as I dont know anyone whos been unhappy with a BMC or Viper style of replacement induction system, I should have thought this might work in the same way. Looking at the Clio Cup cars at Rockingham I saw the induction up close, pretty simple really -...
Well the only times Ive ever been to motor racing events has been through the club in some way or another and both times I had a wicked day out. Rockingham today was excellent. Touring cars was a lot better than it looks on telly.
Im not aware of any TuV approved kits because the 16v tuning scene doesnt seem that big in Germany. although at the Ring there were a few German Renault enthusiasts who were having a very good look at my turbo CLio while we were parked up. The only Renault tuner/shop I can think of round your...
Yeah 200 sheets is a bloody good price - because rather than doing the job properly and getting the entire engine and gearbox out of hte car then fitting the new clutch, theyre going to separate them still in the engine bay and try to slip it in and hope for the best. It can be done that way...
BLoody hell 17s will blunt performance my arse! :DOnly if you want to measure every 0-60 with an atomic clock and youve got something thats slow anyway! Dont be silly, just get the 17s, I can guarantee you that the 172 will shrug off any supposed performance hit like water off a ducks back...
AFAIK WIlly box is longer final drive/longer 5th gear. Obvious really cos the Willy engine doesnt rev as high and has more torque low down so it makes sense to gear it up for a higher top speed. Keeping the valver box will give you better sprint speed but poke at the end of the revs.
Paul Im gonna be delving around in there soon myself - Does that plastic insert bit that goes through the subframe come out quite easily? Thats what restricts it to around 60mm, but does it just pull out to give a 100mm hole through the metalwork? Or will I have to break out the jigsaw?
Yeah anyway youre big enough Yoz you should have sat on him and crushed him to death! LOL I gave up heavy drinking a long time ago - found that being pissed quite often meant you mostly meant other piss-heads. And seeing as about half the population cant have a drink without acting like tw*ts...
Simon its while you wait mate! I hacked it over there (near Alton, Hants) from Southend and made it in an hour and a half - and thats in the Fiatwith the Clio bonnet in the boot! Took a couple of hours in the workshop then I drove it home again, all finished. The snail-kitted Clio will be back...
To be honest Clare Id either get it fillled and sprayed or just buy another bonnet for a ton and get Steve to spray it. The majority of the underneath of your bonnet is double and in some places triple skinned.
I wasnt that impressed with them once they had a few thousand miles on them. Brand new they were a good tyre, but with a bit of wear on them the wet weather performance was frightening, unlike my old Goodyear Eagles. Then I went back to Eagles and theyre just as good as I remembered. The Toyos...
LOL if you were going for a serious drag-race to decide who got to kick whose arse then you could cane the Corsa pretty easily. But if were just talking about every day traffic lights grand prix and getting from A to B then the Corsa will be quicker. Although Im sure it is some kind of...
Closest is the mk1 Clio manual which includes all the stuff on the 16v. Most of it is the same for the Williams with the exception of a few suspension bits and the engine internals.
So the question is, which would get you more points/fine/ban?
95mph in a 30 zone OR 110 on a motorway?
And who else agrees that that stretch of the A1M just near Peterborough where it goes 4 lane is an ideal spot for a genuine 130+ run?
Isnt that Spike out of Buffy the Vampire Slayer? AFAIK the unwritten rule is that you always want a contrast between wheels and body. So a light car suits dark wheels. And a dark car suits light wheels. But then again dark wheels suit everything, as long as their not the same colour eg black car...
Marcus - £95 including the cutting of the inner skin inside which was needed to do the louvring in those positions.
Si- LOL well I said none too subtly to Jon and Adi that she was definitely the hottest babe in the whole place- maybe she heard! Well, not including Jakki, but out of the rest...
What did I do myself? Arrange the personal appearance of Jakki Degg? ;) I wish mate. Or the louvres? THey were done yesterday morning at Cool Louvres in Hampshire.
Louvred valver bonnet- row of ten at the RHS of picture are above the chargecooler and filter cone so should allow chargecooler rad heat to rise/be drawn straight out rather than warming up the inlet. The 9 at the front of the bonnet bulge are directly above and further back from the main...
Wet weather isnt a problem. I did this mod a couple of years ago, in an earlier incarnation of my valvers many mods! Seriously, even if youre driving in really hard rain you only get a bit of damp up the pipe and it doesnt do it any harm at all to the engine or the filter. Just make sure that if...
Theyre more like £1200 normally arent they. I bought bigger wheels purely to be able to run bigger brakes. And they hardly fit under them, but then they are 325mm discs with 4 pot calipers.
I was wondering when someone was gonna sort out a 4 pot Brembo kit for that sort of money...I cant...
