Sounds like a headgasket on what you have said, not that uncommon on the smaller engines. It may have been a fairly cheapish(few hundred) quid fix if you had spotted it sooner but there may significant engine damage if the engine has overheated. I assume you stopped the car when it told you to?
the thing that annoys me is it states full service history which suggests regular and on time, then goes on to list that there was over 25,000 and 33,000 miles between recorded services. FFS!
So how much extra time would it take to change the oil pump?
Is it just a case of lifting the engine as far as the loose mounts allow and swapping the pump over?
I would imagine the bit that shredded previously is somewhere around the back of the crank pulley and it is just unfortunate that it has reared its head as you changed the belt.
Did the car run when the belt was split? run fine? or not run at all. If not then the belt change was in vane.
It...
I think if you want to change it round you can, but you need to file down the keyway so the wheel will locate wherever you put it.
It isn't dangerous as you still have all the other splines holding the wheel but it is a bit of a bodge.
This is exactly what it seems. The insurance company isn't stupid.
It would appear your mum has insured her car then decided to modify her car by adding alloy wheels.
Also on your mothers policy it would appear that the named driver (read less frequent user, less likely to be in the car, less...
Re: £392 to purchase, paint and fit a GT spoiler for my Clio 200. Good price or rip-
The gloss black painted spoiler will look different to the wrapped roof. Why not get the unpainted spoiler wrapped at the same time.
The steering pump is new-ish (less than 5k miles)
I remember the whine the old pas pump made and it wasn't this. Also it doesn't change pitch with steering input.
I had my head in the wheel arch when trying to find to the noise and was surprised to find it wasn't coming from any the pulleys but...
Now I know many of them do it, but i remember a time when it didn't so in my eyes it shouldn't.
There is no noise coming from the pulley area and the whine seems to be coming from the sump....oil pump??
Will a new oil pump cure the cold start whine, it seems to have gotten worse over the years...
Did you really ring up before....really?
Because if you did I would have told them on the phone that you called beforehand and was told it would be fine. They will dig out the transcript from the call and probably offer to insure the mods. That is of course if you did call them.
Spot on that man. Disaster averted. Managed to have a proper look today and it turned out to be a split hose. Phew. So I still have faith in my 182.
I thought it might have been something more serious read expensive). So sorted with a £20 replacement set of hoses. :)
So following on from yesterdays thread about never having any big problems with my 182 in my 5 years of ownership.
I get a nice surprise this morning.
Stopped at a friends house after a spirited drive and noticed steam coming from the bonnet shut....hmmm what the hell.
Opened the bonnet and...
Hey everyone.
Just thinking today really. Will have had my 182 for 5 years in Feb. Done about 60k in it.
In that time the only bits that have needed changing are; (excluding maintenance...tyres, servicing, bling etc)
2 track rod ends
rear dampers
dephaser (cambelt was conveniently due)...
I can almost guarantee your tutor was talking nonsense. Used oil....really. There's no way that would fly.
I used to use the mobil 1 0w40 stuff ad various other 5w40 'top spec' stuff for years.
I have now switched to the 'cheap' stuff and have no issues at all. My dad works for a motor factors...
Ideally with tints you want to trim them ever so slightly bigger than the window or better still if the vehicle has a natural tinted edge, cut it so it just sits inside this area.
Then rub some soap/vaseline on the outside of the window. Put the film(still with the backing paper on) on the...
Hey guys
Just wondering if anyone knows the diameter of the lower/top rad hose and the expansion tank hoses.
Doing a coolant change tomorrow and just need to get some jubilee clips to replace the renault clips.
Cheers
Hi guys, just a quick one
Got a pas switch/sensor on the way.
How much fluid can i expect to lose when i unscrew it?
Not from a top up point of view, but I want to know if I need a massive container underneath haha
Cheers
With that aftermarket exhaust on, sticking right in your face. Could an insurer refuse to cover their policy holder if they say the extra power and speed contributed? I mean clearly speed was an issue.

The advert seems to suggest you run two exhausts? One for road standard(through the cat) and one for track use?
Or you just run another pipe around the cat with this?
WTH!!
Would...
As title really, I have a scorpion RS192 that has been on there for about 3 years now, Its brilliant don't get me wrong but can be a bit loud and drony at times, And I seem to have had a few comments recently about it being loud, which I guess I haven't noticed since I have lived with it for so...
It that is indeed the wrong windscreen then we can deduce that.....
It has been written off at some point
The belts were done by a numpty and the timing is off
You bought a dog and it will only make 130hp
It will self destruct imminently
The owner skipped on maintenance
It is probably stolen...
