Tbh mate, if it is going to go down as your fault you might aswell have your car fixed for free by insurance.
It won't make a difference to the price of insurance if the other guy is claiming damage. You will have an 'at fault' claim and that's all you will be assessed on come renewal time.
Is your budget the maximum you can afford or an actual target you have set yourself?
Because if it is the maximum you can afford you may be in for a bit of a shock when it comes to tax/insurance and running costs, not to mention if the car needs the belts changing.
I've never run out in the 182 but drove from past saddleworth on the m62 all the way back to preston with the light on. It was like 42 miles.
The worst thing was I talked myself out of getting off at the junction before my exit trying to push it and there was an accident up ahead, with the...
Have you given it a go yet?
If not then a few pointers first...
Don't copy the youtube video above, it wont last in the areas that it has been stretched how they did it. If you have to stretch the vinyl then don't just heat the last 2 inches that you need to stretch, heat it from a good 12 inch...
A big thanks to snappy for doing the re-trim, the wheel looks and feels mega. Should last a damn sight longer than the original wheel.
Saw the design that another member had on here and loved it. So went for the same thing.....shamelessly stolen :o
Makes the car just feel a lot nicer...
I had the same thing a few years back, only seemed to come on on the motorway. reset everytime I turned the engine off. Turned out to be the brake pedal switch. 2 minute job to sort out.
had slightly similar with a pas pump. it wasn't quite aligned properly and it shredded the belt. took the cambelt with it. The garage paid at their own cost for a full rebuild with new belts. So if the garage is decent enough then they should fix it.
can you not just go to halfords for a touch up pot until you get it repaired, I bet 9 out of 10 people walking past wouldn't even know there was damage there if it had the right colour on it.
In the highway code maybe. Not with the Op accelerating away which would give the corsa a lot more braking room.
If the Op appeared from behind a car then the impact would be at the junction not some distance away from it. Unless.....the other car was going over the limit by a fair bit.
Even...
That's the first time I have seen those photos. I would disagree a bit. The photos look a bad angle.
I think I would definitely say that the other guy must have been going some speed.
Even from where the peugeot is I'm pretty sure most modern cars in the dry will be able anchor on from 30mph...
Probably looking at a couple of hundred quid. Looks like it will need a full quarter respray, hopefully if the paint match is good enough it might not need blending into the door.
For reference I needed a full rear quarter spraying, luckily at the time a mate from a bodyshop owed me a favour so...
b****cks!!!
I hate taking my car to get its tyres changed, windy gun all the bloody way up and a big swing on a bar. the only time you realise is when you try to get the wheel off at home and bloody can't. They do them up so friggin tight it is unreal. c***s. Sorry just had to get that off my...
After having my engine rebuilt over a week ago now, it seems like I am getting a good extra couple of mpg out of the fuel.
New spark plugs would have gone in but the old ones weren't exactly... erm.. old/worn.
It seems they also managed to roll out that shell V Power Nitro at the same time as...
I believe there was 2 types, a tuner list stereo and an update list stereo. The tuner list was the earlier one if I am not mistaken and the wiring is a bit different.
UPDATE!!
Car is back on the road, runs like a dream
New power steering pump and both belts
Car bent all 16 valves
The cost - FREE OF CHARGE
Power steering pump reconditioned incorrectly, the shaft was too long and caused the pulley to be out of line eventually cutting through the belt and...
As people have said mate it doesn't really work like that. For the price you would pay for the material you would probably be almost there to getting it painted anyway.
If you are willing to put up with it for a little bit, just leave it. After maybe a week or two all the air will find its way out naturally and the vinyl will be smooth as anything.
Hey guys
Following on from my recent cambelt/auxiliary/PAS pump failure it looks like I will be getting the engine rebuilt.
Just a few questions so I know what should be done/needed.
When the head comes off, what will it need
Headgasket I imagine, but does it also require new headbolts. Is...
Car diagnosed at Renault. Power steering pump cut through the belt due to incorrect fitting. The power steering pump was changed with the belt 2500 miles ago so the car is going back to the original garage to be fixed.
So an incorrectly fittted few hundred pound job has now turned into a full...
Well it is going to renault next week to diagnose what actually went wrong, if the PAS did as your example above will I be covered if I had the PAS pump changed at the same time as the aux?
I guess I am just trying to hold onto some hope that perhaps I won't end up paying out.
What's the...
I have found the other half of the aux belt!
It is well and truly wedged into the cambelt behind the crank pulley
My theory atm is that somehow the aux belt has sheared, worked its way into the bottom pulley, that has then basically locked up the bottom and as the top pulleys are trying...
