Re: 172 oil leak from rocket cover plenum area noticeable worse during hard track dri
hey Danny, as I'm in australia I cant make it to you. Would you suggest just cleaning up the area and applying a sealant under and on top of the original gasket ?
Re: 172 oil leak from rocket cover plenum area noticeable worse during hard track dri
I tried dealing with Renault parts australia but they are under the impression there is no gasket required under the breather plate. They suggest Gasket Goo. A fellow member of the AU forums posted this part...
had mine done by a guy called thread doctor, he came to my house, smeared some grease in the hole tapped a hellicoil in and then simply pulled out the grease with a stick or something. looked really dodgy and I thought if this works im selling the car but of course it worked, they dont call him...
Re: 172 oil leak from rocket cover plenum area noticeable worse during hard track dri
defiantly more noticeable on the drivers side, is the VVT trigger sitting on top of the rocker cover? I always thought that was a oil sensor!
Re: 172 oil leak from rocket cover plenum area noticeable worse during hard track dri
sounds very likely now that you say that, any idea on how to fix the issue? is there a gasket on there that might need replacing or just tighten it up? does any one know the torque settings ?
Cheers, also...
Hi Guys
Wondering if any one has any ideas about this, my car for years now sometimes leaks a bit of oil from either the plenum or from the rocker cover. i dont think its the hose that connects to the air intake as I have replaced that with a silicon hose, I am thinking it is either the oil...
Hi Guys
I need a new set of strut tops as mine have fallen apart, I tried solid mounts but they knock and bang and dont feel safe.
are these just as good as Renault Items...
i am experiencing knocking noises when going over large bumps / rough roads and also can here noise when on full lock at low speeds. Also suspension height changed after installing them on top of my coil overs. Is this something only compbrake mounts create?
are there any after market top mounts that dont crash and bang over bumps or is it only the compbrake mounts that are utter rubbish? Please comment only if you have had experience with after market top mounts
cheers
Dave
Standard mounts were shot so I downgraded to Compbrake non drilled mounts and I have had enough of the solid mounts after a couple of days, to harsh for me so I want to go back to standard.
Renault have changed the part number from 7701207806 to 7701479060 to now new ones 543A09780R...
same issue with mine any ideas? it looks as if the adjuster is not connected to the light, the light itself just sits on the base of the light if that makes sense
Hi Guys
will these wheels fit 15x6.5 4x100 +40 for my 172. I cant trial fit them cause my cars off the road and they are on the other side of melbourne.
they are ROTA Slip streams
Who thinks they will fit let me know your thoughts urgently
Cheers
leads are the only thing on my engine that actually needed to be replaced, sucks as I changed plugs, coilpack and had injectors flow tested before finding out it was only a dying leads causing a missfire.
so a new thermostat will come with a o ring for the thermostat and a gasket for the housing, meaning ideally no gasket goo is needed? as mine is weeping slightly
my bet is the gear box mount, unless you actually take the mount off you cant tell if it broken or not. could also be the engine needs to be moved forward
