I get mine to bite at 2500 and as soon as the clutch hits the top, floor it. Wheels tend to feather a bit (Slight wheel spin and a bit of squeeling) all the way to 2nd gear change.
See Nics video at thuxton and you will see what I mean.
Sell the CUP and get a new Scooby WRX STI with the Prodrive kit. Over 300 BHP and sub 5 secs to 60 and around 13 to 100MPH. I could possibly afford to go for brand new in about 3 months. Ive finished looking through my shopping list of cars and this is the only one left.
I looked at Evos they are off the shopping list due to 45oomile service intervals.
Im not looking at 2nd hand Scoobys Ill be looking at the 305BHP 2004 model.
Im quite keen on the V6 Clio. But the Scooby WRX STI is quicker, cheaper and it has rear seats. I will probably able to afford either of them.
I looked at the Evo VIII as well, but the service intervials are 4500 miles and that I recon is silly and impractical. Scooby is 10000 miles between...

Makes you wonder if they put enough oil in the gearbox. Sounds a bit like either layshaft bearings or the main beaing on the final drive end of the box. Had the latter on a rover 414 and it progressively (over about 700 miles) became a very heavy grinding noise that was so painfull to listen...
Just a thought.... normally on the bank holiday weekend most of the racing in on the Sunday. Qualifying is mainly on the saturday with exception of some of the other racing (Not touring cars). Please can you advise as I would want anyone, including myself to go on the wrong day !
Does the CD player still work, but cut our after 20 mins. Mine did this when it blew a fuse (cigar lighter didnt work either) it was a 15amp one behind the cover on the passenger side dashboard end.
it is loud on the motorway - but I have heard worse - mine is a quieter version - fitted jan 2004. Brill though, highly recommend, performance gain too.
