oh, sorry mate, just checked the spare i have and its from the rear passenger side. to get them out is a b**ch. I had to use pliers and literally yank it out in pieces untill it wasnt secured in any more. The new one will just slot in and lock in place, though.

it is mentioned in the manual. You will have the little square thing above the rear view mirror, attatched to the screen, if you have the autolights/wipers.

thats not a question that can be answered really. Depends on your driving style, how good the pads are, condition of the discs etc etc etc etc etc edit. You could wear them down in 1000 miles or they could last 10 times that. Depends how you drive.

its your new pads rubbing slightly on the new discs. Mine did this for close to 6 months untill they were bedding in properly.

i think the wipers and the surrounding pannel (what ever its called) have to be removed in order to gain access. Pretty sure there are pictures on here of a memeber who removed that pannel and how he went about it.

its a really soft plastic, i dont think much can be done as you could make it worse.

cable clutch on these mate. And the whirring is probably normal unless its excessively loud. All my cars' gearboxes have made a slight whirring noise when clutch down. It can only be heard with the stereo off and if your really quiet.

to disconnect it from the nipple, slide it in a downwards direction after you have twisted the motor loose. The nipple will then come loose from the connection inside the headlight.

tbh i think its the mk2 ph2's that began to have powersteering and such as standard from the base models upwards.

lol. thats a new one!. I suppose the uch could have a problem as i believe nearly all the electrics are controlled by it.
