I've got the R71, which should have the same speakers. I don't mind them as I only use them for quiet late night listening. Obviously you wouldn't expect volume and bass from them. There is no point in flat screen manufacturers putting in better speakers as most people use external ones...

Sell it and use the money to buy a 172. Take the badge off of it if you'd like a sleeper. Resale will be difficult I'd imagine for your project.

It will probably be fine if maintained well, but just think about resale.

Just because it's 1080P doesn't mean it's good, in fact it'll be worse. The TV needs to be capable of processing all of that info and keeping up with it; you'd be better off with a lesser spec at that price. You can buy TVs by spec sheets :)
