Never used it however I looked into it recently as I was going to buy a track car which would need to be road legal. I managed to get my Clio and a 106 Rallye insured for £1200, not to bad considering the Rallye on it's own was £1000!
They'll do anything to try and bump up your premium so don't give them the option to do it! Any accident must be declared even if it wasn't your fault, that's just how it works.
I'm currently 6 months into my Admiral policy and fingers crossed I've not had any issues with them.
Oh ok, I think I read on another thread it needs to come off. At least that'll make the job a little easier, also a few people mentioned using a ball joint fork is it actually needed?
EDIT: Just seen your post above :( I think I'll book it in for the work and save my poor hands the effort.
I'm going to attempt some DIY and replace a dead ball joint however it looks like I'll need a torque wrench for when I piece it all back together.
Does anyone recommend any torque wrenches? Not looking to spend loads as it won't be used often.
Also apart from the hub nut will I need to torque...
Cheapo one off eBay from The Renault Centre, it was around £30. Also came with a 12 month warranty, it's been ok for 3 months and as it's a run around it doesn't get blessed with genuine parts.
The after market xenon haters will soon pounce on this thread! (I'm not a big fan but I understand why ppl do it)
In theory these won't pass MOT's but it depends how friendly your tester is. Also the higher temp you go for the less light it'll produce, 6k is perfect imo.
I also had this problem on my 1.2 Clio, the local garage ended up using the air line they use for guns and managed to blow the plastic/rubber out. I then fitted a new coil pack and it started to run spot on again.
295 from full tank to the light coming on, my commute is short but all A roads sat at a steady 65mph. I put my foot down a little at weekends but that's it, MPG could be better it's usually around 35mpg.
Overall I think it's great compared to other hot hatches such as CTR, Cooper S etc. People...
Looks like I'm just being a wimp then! I was worried I would end up damaging the wing. I'll have another go at the weekend so await the thread titled 'Broken face, bumper and wing'...
I did manage to remove the acoustic valve so at least one job got done.
I tried to remove my front bumper this weekend and failed! I followed the guide on here however when it came down to pulling the bumper off the wings I couldn't do it....Before anyone asks I did remove the bolts however I noticed some extra clips as shown below?
Anyway is there a special...
I'm going for the cheapest then! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/U480-OBD2-LCD-Car-Diagnostic-Scanner-Fault-Code-Reader-/170694149794?pt=UK_Diagnostic_Tools_Equipment&hash=item27be2a06a2 It'll prbly take 6 months to arrive but hey ho!
Do people recommend the handheld ones like in the link above or USB type which require a laptop?
It looks like you get the chance to use more features on the USB/Laptop ones?
Ball joints have been done a couple of months ago, looking like top mounts then! This car is a never ending money pit.... Any way of checking the top mounts for play?
Over the past week my cars developed a loud creaking noise, it's mainly when turning right that it's worse.
What's the first thing I should check? I'm hoping it's nothing too serious as I'm still driving it daily.
My 182 is a daily driver so id be screwed if it broke on the track. I've had a 106 in the past so really want to get another as they're easy to work on.
I could possibly be collecting one next week so insurance will need to be sorted one way or another! If I do struggle to keep it running it...
