Waxes won't do much to the swirl marks as the just slightly fill the scratches; you need to remove a very thin layer of the clear coat to make it smooth again. This is done my using a polish (needs to be pure polish), and preferably a Random orbital polisher. You can do it by hand, but it takes...
I'm looking at getting the Sony CDX - DAB6650, as I found an absolutely cracking deal on it. Once of the reasons I'm looking into it as it has Digital Radio; I know you need to use a different aerial with it, but I don't particularly want to use the glass mount one. Does anyone know of a neat...
I thought they would be much more than that, it's not too bad. While o the subject, does anyone know if they need to have spacers fitted to fit a PH1. It's not lowered or anything. (Yet:approve:)
Does anyone know of a company that makes 182 replicas? I think these wheels looks awesome, but I can't find a set anywhere. If there are no replicas available, can someone direct me to a good place to start looking, besides eBay?
The dash display works to an extent, it shows Vol Up and Vol Down I think, and when its idle it just says Alpine. No track numbers and stuff though I'm pretty sure.
I would probably say stay away from the flexiblade thing, except for glass. If you miss even a tiny spot on you car and go over it with the blade, you might get some bad scratching. Waffle weave is kinder.
I'll keep a look out for some foam pads for the polisher, I think it's a 8 inch polishing pad. If i find some good pads, I'll try using the Klasse AIO; I don't know if it will be agressive enough, but The paint is in fairly good condition.
Thanks for all the help guys.
It's a random orbital.
Cheers for the headsup on the lambswool bonnets, I guess I'll just do it by hand, the results look pretty good. Will take me forever, but I think it will be worth it.
In the next two weeks, I'm going to give my car probably the only full detail it's ever had, so I bought some Clay and Detailer, and Meg's Gold Class Wax sealant. The paint is dulled pearl black, but from inspection it doesn't seem to have swirl marks, just hundreds of parallel fine scratches...
eBay.
I think they are pretty difficult to fit yourself if you have no electronics/soldering experience, but the guy that sells them will fit them for you... at a price.
I have just fitted some PH2 rear lights to the mobile, but I never noticed this until I was testing the lights; only the left side rear fog comes on. I'm almost certain that it was like this with the old lights.
Is there any rewire mod that would allow for both side foglights to come on?
Thanks
As far as I know, the USB port does not output audio, so it would just be via the headphone jack. Just use a simple 3.5 jack to phono if you ever get an aftermarket headunit, but I don't thing there is anything available for the OEM headunit unless it's for iPods only.
Not really something funny, just absolutely heart wrenching. A friend went to pick up his new Black 230 RX-8, and once all the final paperwork was done, the dealer goes
"I'll just give it a clean for you, it's a little dirty"
My friend then walks out to onto the forecourt, where he sees the...
Now that is a surprise. I always had visions of it being horrendously expensive. (maybe I just remember the F355's timing belt change costing well over £2500 too much):p
How much would it cost to replace a Timing belt roughly? The engine is the 1.4 in a MKII. I heard that it's worth replacing this before it reaches it's due replacement date, better than bent valves galore.
Thanks
So true! I was just asking here, as I didn't want to have to contact the company to get a rough idea, as I am only 17, so I didn't want them to "Blacklist" me or something for thinking about modding my car a little.
I would like to do some small subtle mods on my car, such as clear side repeaters, silver vision bulbs, a neater aerial; also some interior mods like aluminium accessories. Would I need to declare these on my insurance policy even though they are superficial? I would like to tint the windows and...
Hey there! I just stumbled on this forum when searching for things about my Clio, so I joined. I drive a Phase 1 MK2 Clio 1.4S in pearl black, I'll post a pic later if you want to see it although it is bone stock.
