Renault boy; I've seen em dude, looks like you've done a decent job on the refurb.
There is a good chance the clio will be sold this summer to put towards an aygo for my missus, if that wasn't happening (and you were nearer Bristol) l'd be keen on them, I'll let you know if that changes mate. :)
Yhea, have to admit 60mm and a set of turb's like the ones you have would be great. I'll just have to drive around with a ton of bricks in the boot for now :D
My RSi works for it's keep. 2 years on she's never missed a beat, always there to help when I need a good work horse. French build quality not as fragile as you think!
I had to transport some stuff.
that looks low,
Yep that's getting there,
just a few muddy bricks... rekon I...
Just imagine this parked up in the garage next to the vee!
I'd prefer it in Red or that electric blue, if I was being really fussy. The more I click on that avert the more I like it.
If it was £16k or £18k it'd be out of the question but at that price, I'm even heading up to shropshire in...
My uncle works for Rolls Royce and got the opportunity to be transfered to Beverly Hills to work on them in the US.
Apparently at the time (early 90's) they were crying out for good RR mechanics in the US because they were typically more popular than they were over here. He still works for...
Good god, it's beta versus vhs all over again.... :)
Trouble is any fan boy can vote for their format on that site. What I want to know is will I still be able to play dvd's, can both players still play dvd's?
What is the difference between them anyway, please not the techy stuff, but...
Nice first car seconded. My first bought car was a crabby old golf that cut out when it rained, before that I had a hand-me-down moggy minor! :) . I would keep your car like it is for now and just spend the money on fuel and get out there and do some driving and enjoy.
Now we're talking. My old next door neighbour was one of the engineers at austin / rover who helped design the 6R4. He was a festidious kind of guy, who had a tool for everything, even the screws in his light switches on the walls were tightened up so they lined up. :S
I've had the chance to...

How amazing is that!
I want, doesn't really sum it up!
ps sorry if this is a repost. I did search.
Wow cat171 I thought they only did them in red, silver and purple. Own up, have you spent a fortune getting it sprayed!! ;)
I'll have a suprise turning up in the post this week hopefully. :)
Unfortunatly 1:18 scale (which are the larger models) of the 1*2 have never been produced (to my knowledge) i would love to be prooved wrong on that though. There are 1:43 and smaller clio 1*2's available, infact I think Renault dealerships used to sell them. The quality (dispite being small)...
Great thread. I don't see any reason why you can't have as much fun in a small engined car as you can in a more powerful model.
The fun of driving a small engined car is frantically changing gears keeping the thing on the boil. You can heel and toe down changing into a corner and exit with all...
looks like you'll be sticking on those lovely 3 spokes renault gave all us ph 1.6 owners for the time being, infact I have those fitted still to mine and bounced down a few pot holes the other day as they were hidden by flood water.
I think the photo will help your claim, but good luck they...
Nice, one :)
I wish someone would produce a ph1 172 in 1:18, they are nearly half way there with most of the casting from the mk1 v6. A valver in 1:18th would be good...along with a maxi rally version.......oh, and a super1600.......
TWR used to do a lot of work on jag's. years ago I once got to do a valet on a customers car, an XJ V8 sport saloon, it had the full twr works done to it, loads of engine work, twin turbo, suspension kit, wheels and manual gearbox. It even had two boost guages and sounded immense just on...
Ahhh I see now. ;)
I suppose I look at insurance as something subjective rather than materialistic, something like a tin of beans or a house is a material purchase where as you pay for insurance in the lightly hood that 'something' will happen based on statistics. You are not to know if you've...
Maybe I'm wrong but I thought the principals of insurance is price fixing mate. Your postcode sets a figure as does your age and your vehicle etc. Tell me, who sets the amount you pay related to the statistical figures for age, vehicle and location and then and applies them to insurance pricing...
I hate to tell you dude but it aint gonna happen, past that bench mark a few years ago and there was little difference. I think you can take out a classic car policy when you reach 25.
I owned a scirocco 1.8 and the quote for that ranged from £300 to £700, six months earlier I nearly bought...
Insurance companies are sharks plain and simple. They know that it is a legal requirement to have insurance and thus you pay or you dont drive, so they have you by the balls. Even though quotes vary there is a certain amount of price fixing I am sure, infact because I have a pair of balls I am...
To me that is just all noise, just like it's owner. f**k me I went to sleep waiting for that ricer to stop waffling. Then got rudely woken up, as his car sounds like an angry wasp.... seriously I've got a beard trimmer that sounds more grunty than that.
He seemed to go through about 20 gears...
I remeber dealing with a couple of cars with it done in my valeting days.
If you want to clean then you just need to hoover with a very light brush. If you get gloopy or greasy chemicals on it i should imagine you've buggered it as I was told to keep any cleaners away from it.
It is very...
There are two sides to every story, I don't know all the facts but......
Lets look at it this way. You've all seen the mess the boot floor of a clio is even after a small shunt when at first glance only the bumper is knackerd.
Now I'm not saying this 'did' happen......
What if the lad...
Regardless of everything else look at the back arches, they are not right at all. The Vee has one flat surface down to the arch from the point at which they are flaired, that thing however has and arch within an arch so in some respects the silver one mossy posted up is actually a better job!
I don't think that is a stealth exhast (ie hidden under the back bumper) it just sticks out slightly when you cut the bottom of the bumper and fit the trim piece, I could be wrong though.
It all looks good though, I like the wheels.
