Ok, this is the month to sort out the problems that's bothering me with the Cup. Already got my small dent in the rear quarterpanel taken out for a bargain £20, so now onto the internals;
Problem One
For a while now my Cup, whilst idle, and I presume moving, is making a light 'knocking'...
£1087 is pretty damn cheap for the work involved there. I wouldn't touch that with a bargepole, and would have told the insurance a write-off in most cases. Anyway, glad you got it sorted mate, thankfully taxi drivers up here are pretty decent guys!
I keep my insurance details, A fuel can with about £3's worth of fuel in it just incase, pen/paper, MOT pass certificate (Bobby's up here are funny about aftermarket exhausts), and gonna buy a disposable camera, as that sounds like a pretty damn good idea.
Ask someone with a Liquid for their paintcode which is located on a peice of metal inside the passenger door. Take it down to a local bodyshop and ask for a price. Easy. How do you think we re-spray wings etc when a liquid yellows gets damaged? ;)
Oh God please don't start with that. I'm sure just as many 172's have crashed with ABS, along with the thousands of other cars out there without ABS. It's how you drive the car that really counts.
All you've considered minus the mohave kit and changing the lights. If you're judging your decision on the kit based off the K-Tec website, then have a closer look. It's been heavily photoshopped (Colouring/ 'Rear Arches') and I'm yet to see a Clio on here with it, that looks half decent.
The Renault disks are awful IMO. It's almost like they paint a metal finish over the top, which just flakes off. My dad got me some front discs, and pads for trade price (£50) from somewhere local and they're the best I've used yet.
You're talking a grand for the decent kit, on top of that a paint-job (£500-600), wheel spacers (£30 each?), 17" alloys (£££), spoiler (ebay - £130), twin custom exhaust (£300 - £400), plus all the little other things such as megane style indicators, xenons, washers, badges, fog lights...
I recognised that kit straight away, like Chrisjk did. Shame he was lied to, but it's not the first time I've heard 'there's only x of them in the country,' only to find out they're as common as the original bumpers.
Out of curiosity, how much did he pay for the lot?
haha, my mates 172 had his grille cut out by the previous owner to fit one of these. Was annoying as hell having to buy another one when putting it back to standard for insurance purposes.
A view over Loch Ness with a layer of low clouds covering the water. (This was taken with the 'RockNess' concert going on just below! It was taken with my phone camera, and I was KICKING myself for not bringing the Canon.
The thickness of the fog at that level;
I'm about £250 a month, including insurance. I'm only 21! What's going on with your crazy monthly price?! A Corsa, £150 a month?! Seirously mate, get a 1.2 Clio instead. My Dynamique was £100 a month, £60 insurance.
With 3 years no claims, you should be laughing. I had none, and still have none, and mine is cheap (Direct Line). Luckily, I'm a month aaway from being insured to drive any car I want (through my Dad's business insurance), so I won't ever need to worry about insurance quotes again, nor...
