you are more than welcome to come and have a nosey :D
just introduce yourself and i'll be happy to have a chat
it's more than likely gonna be down in the pit garages all day near the track, so i'm assuming you can get there through the tunnel
right so here is my write up from our first ever trackday, lessons were learnt (mainly by me :o) and things need fixing, but i am very happy with how both me, my brother, and the car performed :D
ELVINGTON OPEN PIT LANE TRACKDAY 15/05/2010
so the weekend was here, our first trackday in the...
sounds the same as mine bud
my gearbox was fine before my trackday, and even after a good few sessions it was quiet, but then later in the day it developed a whine, and after a few more sessions they could hear me all the way around the track, like a dimented air raid siren! lmfao
but it...
right bit more for you to digest....
with the outside of the car getting a little attention, it was time to tidy up the engine bay, i had painted the engine mount and plenum white originally, then the plenum got binned for the bodies, and the engine mount didnt stay white for long. so it was...
yep i toyed with the idea of cams, i even had them ready to fit, but then decided against it for now
i need to get used to driving the car rather than disguise my lack of ability with more power lol
well seeing as though a few other lurkers are updating their project threads i thought i would give this a bump.....
basically things have been up and down recently, i have been very busy with my other hobby, and then things got shaken up with my job, to the point where i stopped working on...
Re: someph-ing different...........
another question about this :o
what plug leads are you using with the coilpack being relocated to where it is?
my current leads don't stretch far enough :(
lmfao
i do agree with him saying keep your nose out, at the end of the day you should just let stuff like this go over your head, waste of time trying to talk to these people!
although if you do have alot of spare time i suppose its good for a chuckle
yeh thats them
that 106 'independance' has a 1.6 16v under the bonnet, and is soon to have cams and ITB's i think
the garros was a SC 8v, but is also getting a 16v lump with SC as part of it's rebuild. they are trying to have it ready for FCS.
oh that's naughty......
i'm telling (in a 6 yr old telling the teacher kind of tone)
i once had a guy take a picture of the rear panel of a golf to justify it needed a repair, shame the car he was estimating was a polo
ah i dont think we do any work for AVIVA, can always send me the reg and i will check though
is that what garages do, oh my this is a real insight!
;) :rasp:
give me a shout if you dont want to buy it back yourself bud, i might be interested in it
also you can pm me your reg if you like and i can have a look and see if my company is dealing with it?
i'm using a sandwich plate, and yes there is a slight leak from it, but no worse than the one on my cam cover, or the gearbox one i have from the n/s driveshaft seal :o lol
i did a bit of research before i purchased mine, and it was a bit of swings and roundabouts, some saying that using a T...
o/s is drivers side
not sure how much a garage would charge, but it is a simple job as long as the thread isn't rusted solid, it can turn into a bit of a mare if it is
i would suggest taking a look at it and spraying alot of wd40 if it looks rusty before taking it to the garage
no
oh and your question before about running a dry sump, all comes down to expense, would be a nice bit of kit, but without finding any second hand it would be pretty expensive
lol no problem mate, i dont have part numbers or anything, but im sure i can get them when i order it all :)
items needed:
- hoses, roughly £15 a metre including swaged fittings, can be made to any length you require
- remote filter take off, can either be left or right handed outlets, or...
i have done just that
spoke to a very helpful guy, worked it out to budget around £120 for the full filter relocation setup
roughly same price as places online
the choice now is do i stick with the steel fittings, or go bling-tastic and go for aeroquip fittings (muchos dolla)
no i mean the filter
you bolt a take off plate onto the original filter location, then two pipes leading to another adapter that the filter then screws into, means you can have the filter out of the way, makes it easier to change it, aids in cooling, and in my case makes it easier to route...
