I also got a CD with some pics taken by Pro’s on the day 40 pics on the CD in total, these are just a few.
I have some vids that I will upload tomorrow as well.
Looks good, is the inlet length adjustable for varying setups? or fixed? Will the slam panel have to be modified to fit them? Are you going to do them as a complete package?
I have used the lower belt mount for door side, cobra X-Low subframe mount for passenger side and drilled 2 new holes in the rear and fitted eyelets for the 2 at the rear.
Exactly, my favourite quote ever coms from Colin Chapman (founder of Lotus for the uneducated!!), ''add lightness'', the easiest and cheapest way to a better power to weight ratio (which is all you are trying to improve at the end of the day).
It doesn't, have to use the passenger side and the harness straps are in the way!!! I think the seat should be around £250-300ish????
Its still there, just modded it to clear the lower part of the subframe. I couldn't be arsed pulling the carpet up etc to take it out.
No nothing really, just drive it. Engine is standard and im going to keep it like that.
Seat was cheap from a friend with the side mounts, subframe costs £75 from tweeks, fitted myself.
Seat and side mounts i got off a friend (only used twice in his old trackcar) so they were really cheap. Side mounts are usually £50ish the im not sure about the seat.
Not strictly, but its 100times better than the s**t 2'' harness that you get. I wasn't prepared to shell out an extra £90 to get a proper 3'' 4 point ECE approved one, it can be changed at MOT time for a cheap 4 pointer if it even gets noticed.
Will get some pics up of the subframe etc when i...
I have used a X-Low Cobra subframe that mounts through the 4 original seat holes and then you bolt the sidemounts to this subframe. It isn on runners etc, all bolted solid. X Low subframe is £75 from Cobra and they are sided and a b*****d to fit (need modifying).
Passenger side harness is...
Fitted this last week, but just finally got the position sorted today. Seating is a lot lower and much more comfortable, car drives completley different. It feels as though there is loads more traction, but its just the fact that im not sliding around anymore!!!!!!!
The car
Yep ABS still there, it doesn't come in that early and you can get a slight bit of a locking before the abs catches up, but its still there for when you need it.
I run 295mm Discs with 15's, can't see why you couldn't put 16's on, you can get 330mm discs under them with the corect calipers!!!
You line is miles out!!
Jon R is right, all the dots are put there during the BMW driver training weeks and can be used by everyone, there is turn-in, apex...
Copper grease isn't a great idea on these (grease could work its way into caliper and contaminate brake fluid!!!!). I run mine dry, only rattle when i reverse (hits the grooves in the discs).
Do you like the brakes then?
Had mine on for around 3 months, they are WAY better than the standard stuff.
Off to Cadwell in a couple of weeks to give them a proper test!!!
