Ben...........What about the 1.4 MG ZR105?
Looks good IMO and has 1 of the most powerful 1.4 engines out there. 102bhp is not bad from a 1.4. It looks a sporty car and insurance for your brother would also be cheap, its only insurance 6 i believe.
Its right in your price budget also!!
Thats a good 60-100 time youve got there Neil......;) 7.5 secs!!
Glad you see the funny side, just like i have, with my left hander!! < < < < <
<<<<<<<<<
Do you live in a high crime area like Liverpool/Glasgow??
That quote doesnt seem to be too bad considering you only have 1 yrs no claim. (did you not have the option of protecting your no claims?)
Paddy............A 1/4 mile is a crap test of a cars capabilities. If we were all equally matched drivers then i might agree with you!
It all depends on 1 thing............ the launch. Get an experienced 1/4 miler in a cup vs a 1st timer in another equally matched cup, and its obvious who is...
I have no doubt Neil has a quick cup. Good on him really!! Do you hear that Neil, Im giving you a compliment;)
5.9 does seem extremely and incredibly quick for a lightly modded cup though. I would certainly have believed the cup needing 200+ to break the 6sec barrier. But if Neils got evidence...
Neils a funny character, along with that twin brother of his!!
5.9 was probably done on a stop watch and the 186bhp claim was probably made up! Has anyone seen timing slips or RR graphs from Neil to back up his claims?
I agree, there is no point in wasting money to be a tiny little bit quicker because at the end of the day its still a 1.2, and sorry to say it will be beaten by the majority of cars on the road.
Having a 1.2, you should go for styling rather than power. If you want power go and buy yourself a...
Your always going to get a lot of wheelspin in 1st and 2nd gear with that amount of power going through 2 front wheels in such a light car, especially if wet which to be fair is quite regular here in the UK.
Youll never beat these cars mentioned 0-60 wise (Fwd vs 4wd) but speeds after that...
30% in a FWD car.......Your having a giraffe mate.
What does that make my 4wd scoob?? 50% tx loss??
Like someone has said 15% seems to be the rough estimate with 4wd being around 25%. Nothing like the 30% you are quoting.
Like i said before, your flywheel figure is going to be under 100bhp...
100bhp at the flywheel and 79 @ the wheel would indicate a 21% transmission loss would it not?
FWD cars shouldnt be so high so my reckoning is under 100
6.2 to 60??
I doubt that mate, the cup is not powerful enough for that kind of speed. 6.6/7 is the book time, but a certain magazine have managed a 6.5. Probably with a launch king, so your 6.2 seems a tad inaccurate.
A 14.7 does seem feasable for a cup though so no worries there. Your...
It is Cliosport though. There is a couple of things i disagree with.
Reliability.........From a French car??.....Prefer British engineering.
Safety.........Where did you pull that 1 from?? The cup is just a metal tin shell. Theres nothing wrong with the ZR safety...
FCUK1_6.................Just to let you know the ZR160 is a group 16. The ZR120 is a group 10, and the ZR105 is group 6. I know, i used to have the 160.
Looks goes to the 160.
Performance........JUST.......goes to 172
Interior.......... Both sh*te, but the 172 will just pip it...
Not many boyracers have 15k spare in there back pockets.
The car is outdated and MG need to pull there finger out and do something about it. As someone has said theres not much difference inside to that of a Rover 200 series.
The bumpers are plain and simple, nothing like the stupid...
If your a boy racer at heart and everywhere you go its foot to the floor, i would actually reccomend the 172s twin brother. There are very very good reviews about the Cup.
If your after looks go for the MG. Performance, i cant deny it, go for the 172.
Ill swing it the other way. The MG all the way.
Looks are important, and IMO the 160 is far superior looking than the clio. The clio back end is ugly, very ugly. To the average Joe, theres not much difference between the 2.0 and the 1.2. Why is it Halfords?? If any of you had a clue who...
Thats a question thats always stumbled me.
My old MG had a 50 litre fuel tank, i actually ran out of petrol and the car did not start up again. I only got 46.6litres back in. The gauges are never accurate, 1/2 tank doesnt mean 25 litres are left in. IT IS MY BIGGEST PET HATE AND I HATE IT...
someone I work with has a Cooper S Works on order and has paid £24,000 for the privilege and to get it up to the same spec as the Clio 182! Value for money compared with performance, you cannot beat the Clio.
£24k...... Are you sure mate?? Is it plated with gold??
Was watching Topgear last...
Can only comment for tescos. My car had gold alloys, high rise spoier and recently got windows tinted.
Phoned tesco to tell them and they werent really interested. Noted it down and said no price increase in premium so i was happy.
If you bought the car 2nd hand, you can argue thats the way...
Yes that sounds right, if the dealer cannot supply on an agreed date, the contract between both can be voided. Because 1 is breaking a term of the contract.
Actually mate.... Thinking about it, there is such a thing as a non returnable deposit. A deposit is used to secue an item and then comes off the overall price. A deposit is not used to maybe buy the item.
When i was younger me and my pals had a brainwave 1 christmas to book a holiday for the...
