Cheers I have already seen this guide and I have figured out was is the problem, I was trying to reinstall it head on but the plastic got caught in the steering wheel preventing it from going any further, I just remembered when I removed it I pulled it out from the passenger side not head on so...

I have earthed the amp on to the rear isofix bar bolt. I sanded the paint away + insuring that the connection was good using a multimeter. I am going to try my mates amp tomorrow to see if that works, hopefully it does and this can deduce some of the components from being at fault.

Anyone have a guide on how to put the clio mk2 dash top in? I have taken it out so I assumed putting it back would be a reversal of the removal process but unfortunately it wasnt, the plastic bit doesnt go over the steering wheel so I don't how to get it back in. HELP APPRECIATED :)

See I thought if i was able to read the voltage from the power input of the amp using the positive input and negative terminals then the ground would be fine. The DMM was reading 14.4v at the amp but nothing from the output channels. If the amp wasn't grounded I don't think it would of shown...
