Sorry to hear that mate hope everything works out ok for you and the other guy.
In 1 year of driving the Cup (hard i might add) I only ever had it lock up once and that was an emergency stop at a roundabout on my last day of ownership as i was driving it to the Seat garage. Another car...
You should have blatted it from the word go! There are people on here that say thats the way to get the engine bedded in properly, but hey ho, that discussion has been done to death!
Enjoy your car man, but watch out for ice, rain and the old bill ;)

On that site, 2 sport trendlines come...
So does that mean they will sit 10mm lower than the lowest setting on a standard seat? That doesnt seem a lot to me, in a Clio you need to be at least 30-40mm lower, probably even more!
What ever happened to the Juiced sound recordings? has that happened yet? I remember that some guy came on here saying he wanted standard and modified Clios to go to a day where they would record the different noises to use in the game. Did this ever happen or did it fall through?
Thinking about a Jabba remap, but think ill end up going for the Revo. I like the idea of plugging in and turning the remap on/off. Great for winter and when the missus is driving it! ;)

Well mate i think you couldnt of picked at better car to upgrade to. Youll find that the cupra r holds its money very well, 2-3 yr cars are still goin for over 12k. After something so raw as the 172 cup, whats wrong with a little...
Sorry, but to answer AliasOmega first. If you think that Renault is a brand that holds its money better than Seat then i think your in for a shock! There were very few Cupras for sale when i bought mine compared to 2nd hand 182s, and the price was a lot higher for the Rs. Id been looking for a...
Hello,
Right, thought I’d try and give you my honest review of my Seat Leon Cupra R after having run a 172 Cup for a year previously.
Ok, first things first, the expense. Well obviously the Cupra R cost more than the Cup. I bought the Cup with 5k on the clock last Jan for £10,500, it came...
I have Smart Nav built into my Seat, it basically rings a call centre, which you then tell them where you want to go, and it then sends directions to you car. Mine is free for a couple more months as the dealer installed it. Ive used it once! Its good, but almost all the places i go to i know...
To borrow a classic quote from Red dwarf, and modify it to suit this situation: -
Id go with the Meg, but id be thinking of the V.
I think BenRs right, some V6 owners wear Rose tinted specs when it comes to their cars. They can see no wrong, only the goodness of their cars. Fair play to...
That blue one is Gash-tastic!
Not a fan of the style direction they are taking small hatches, they seem to be getting to "small mpv" for my liking. Very upright. Its based on the Micra platform is it not?
Dont buy it, its over priced for the mileage, doesnt matter what all these Willie Lovers on here say. A Car thats done 80k has seens a lot a mileage. Wear and tear is going to be a serious factor. If youve not even seen this car yet, and youve just been told its a "minter" then im not sure how...
Yeah, tyres do scare me a little. Ive looked on Mytyres.co.uk and i can get eagle F1 GSsomthings for £109 a corner. Fuel is not too bad, costs about £10 more to do the same miles i got in the Cup
Just to let you know, its been about 2 weeks and im still super stoked about the Cupra R!! Its so much more of a complete car than the Cup. I love the Cup dont get me wrong, and it was more of a blast down country lanes, but it lacked in other areas, where as the Leon is good in all areas for me...
Si, what the hell happened!! Feel for you dude, you dont seem to be having the best of luck with that car at the moment! And just when you said you werent going to be spending any more on the car! Doh!
I had them on my cup for about 8k before i sold it. They are better in the wet and there is less Tramlining than the contis, but at motorway speeds it feels very "floaty" (think thats the way to describe it!). If you change lane quickly it feels really unstable, didnt like the feeling one bit...
I bought Uniroyal Rainsports from mytyres.co.uk. They are an ok budget tyre, really good in the wet and not bad in the dry, but there are a few sacrifices. The main one being soft sidewalls. They have this wierd trait at motorway speeds that they feel realy sloppy compared to the Contis. If you...
Just been reading Autocar about Richard Harris long term V6. In his first Paragraph he apologieses for saying his paint cost extra after Jeremy Townsend contacted him to set him stright! Nice to see a memebers name in Autocar every so often!
A wins a win! :D Just bought the Nuts mag in question, for the cars, not the huge amount of topless women in this one, honest! The Leon strangely enough lapped at the same time as a Nissan 350Z. I find that harder to believe.
Yeah, the S3 is a lovely car and you do get a good spec, but that is in the same class as the Cupra R, but is nearly 8-10k more (cant remember new prices, but they werent cheap if i remember rightly).
Quote: Originally posted by Big G on 10 December 2004Wouldnt call that a scalping, Leon Cupra R is 6.9 secs to 60 so fairly evenly matched with a 182, although the Cupra R is £18k :o
Its 6.9 to 62mph, its 6.6 to 60mph. Ive just changed to a Cupra R from a cup. I have to say it is...
just got 8k part ex for my 172 Cup, 52 plate with 17k on the clock. Its a UK car, but older with more miles. I was p/xing it against a Leon Cupra R so not even against another renault.
