Ok, so I have a 1.4 clio RT, I want to do an F7R conversion and the JC5 box. But. I want to keep my current track width, suspension, Hubs, lower arms ect... What drive shafts shall i use?! The Williams/Valver ones will be too long and i would have to get new arms and my coilovers are for the 1.4...
I have already had to machine the holes on the coilovers, Will my current driveshafts fit in the JC5? Will they be strong enough or just twist because i think they're hollow? Can i get shorter ones made up? Expensive? :/
Chip, Will that Widen my track? My coilovers are designed for my current set up with the 1.4 stuff... And I want to keep the track the same, Just williams wheels and bigger brakes, thats pretty much it, Want a sleeper that looks just like a 1.4 with 150+Bhp ;)
Looking to buy a set of Williams Wheels, Preferably Black or a gold set needing a referb. Dont want tyres unless they are decent 195/45/15's
Thanks for looking!
Really? even ones looked after and new cambelt still pull 150? That would be nice...
So can I completly keep my track width and driveshafts and put them into the JC5?
Hi again!
has anyone got an F7R for sale? Preferably with everything or most things I would need to do a conversion on my mk1 1.4RT :) JC5 box ect...
Price?
Pallet Delivery? Collection from?
ATM I have Gaz coilovers that are for the 1.4 Fitment ONLY. Can I run JC5 box WITHOUT William/Valver...
Arrrgghhh... Basically I need to find someone with a Williams or Valver or MK2 PH2 and test fit my front wheels? Best way to check really... :)
Had a though the other day, What about the MK1 Clio RSI? Thats where my Wheels are from in the first place, Will those brakes be good enough?
Been on WilliamsClio, but cant see much as i need to register and my e-mails been blocked... Will have it sorted soon!
I think that White PH3 with the Williams bonnet looks really good from the front, really want to do that now!! How much would something like that cost?!
Just to be clear...
Continuing with what's been done :)
I did have a K&N induction kit, but this made it slower because it was sucking in hot dirty air from around the engine. So i've put the standard box on with a K&N panel filter and two custom cold air feeds.
On the airbox there are two inlets, One for cold air...
That looks good with disc, but Dont think its worth it :/
Yeah 195/45/15's are so much cheaper but If I go to 15's I'll want decent wheels, Williams or Turninis
So If i can pick up a set of Williams calipers for the front, 5 GT turbo Caliper carriers, what size disc should I have? Mine are...
Just trying to save money tbh, dont need new wheels if I can avoid it... although some Turinis or Willy wheels could look EPIC.
Think im going to keep the drums when I convert it, too much hassle and money, The're hammerited black so not so noticeable :)
Thanks Guys! :)
So I will have to widetrack it if I put in the F7R/P?
It's all nice and clean inside and out ;) (Click photos for actual size/better quality)
Comments and thoughts please :)
Btw, Yes that's a Williams steering wheel, and I've painted it Green... not to everyone's taste but I like it :)
Hi!
Looking at doing a conversion on my MK1 phase 3, but need some info on brakes! What are the biggest/best brakes I can fit under my 14's? Do the williams ones fit straight onto my car? in the wheels too? Do I NEED the rear beam changed to Disc?
Help much Appreciated guys! :)
Thanks guys really helpful, With the driveshafts from a 16v/Williams, Won't they be too long from the JC5/JB3 box? Can I do an engine conversion without changing the rear beam, widetrack and keeping my 14's? Whats the best brakes i can have?
Would love to meet up with you guys and go over...
John, No rust at all, anywhere on the car... WIN! Arches are perfect, sills are just starting to peel but got a tin of underseal to redo it :) Apart from a few little surfaces underneath it's sound :)
Really thinking about an engine conversion, but theres so many other things that go with it...
I just slotted the top hole on my coilovers, did some funny calculations and machined them around 1mm towards the car on each side, put them back on, bingo. Perfect Camber.
Hi Everyone!
This is my second thread on here as it's taken me a while to get things sorted on my clio!
I have spent so much time, effort and Money on it it thought it was about time I put it up!
