Hi everyone. What are your thoughts on Clios with replacement engines? Does the ‘matching numbers’ rule apply or is the attitude that an engine is an engine? For context, I am interested in a low mileage 172 Cup that had a replacement engine fitted and wanted to know people thoughts on this.

I contacted the trader who sold it... it was exported to France to a collector. Shame.

I had a nice 172 Cup previously. Another would be an option if the worst for an LY takes too long.

Thanks to Dr Jekyll, today's task has been removing the sticky residue on the stereo surround. Tesco's wipes worked a treat! Also gave the engine bay a quick clean. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Digging this old thread up but does anyone know what spec of Clio the black parts are from? I have a black dash in mine and the A pillars are flaking so need replacements.

Today was mostly speant cursing the person who thought it was a good idea to install a double din head unit by HACKING the stereo surround to bits. There was glue, filler and even wood in there! The whole dash had to come off to remove the existing stereo surround from behind and fit the new...

2 minutes and a bit of carbon tape made the world of difference to the rough looking rear brace

Horrid - had to go! I have to remove the dash though to replace the silver surround so a lenghtly process!

The car came with a double din set up and no air vents etc so in the process of removing all that and putting it back to standard

A few shots from an interior clean this morning. In the middle of putting the double din stereo back to standard - dash off job! I have also fitted standard black side bullets and clear side repeaters as well as sourcing an aluminium bonnet which will be painted and fitted soon!

Hi guys. 2 questions! Currently in the process of removing a double din stereo from my 172. I have sourced the standard parts to go back in but realised the silver plastic surround is screwed on behind the dash - does the whole lower dash need to come off to get to the screws? Second question...

Thought I may as well upload the shots of the car having its respray a few weeks back, as taken by the previous owner who worked in a paint shop so excellent quality finish.

This is the only shot of the seats I have on my phone (currently away on holiday) but will update the thread once I'm back with some good shots. I think the seats look good and match the car but they're a little narrow for me so I'll probably be selling them at some point.
