I can also vouch for fantastic service from lensesforhire, top class. I hired the Canon 10-22 last year.
If you do hire a UWA, you'll want to own one once it goes back.
No problemo mate.
Thanks :)
Thanks, nope, only used CS5 to straighten the horizons as they were slightly out, and to add my name to the shots.
Thanks :)
That star trails shot is a belter Scott.
Brazo i've noticed that if you share it large, it seems to soften them a helluva lot mate.
Here's one from today, Peticco Wick bay, St. Abbs.

A couple from last night, with a few more to come in the next couple of days...will add them to here as and when I upload them to Flickr.

Some of the best photos of this type of photography I have ever seen. Brilliant shots.
Really interesting looking place too, would love to have places like this to explore, however oop north in the sticks, we have nothing of note.
Yeah it's not tooo bad really.
I was indeed using grads....the sun was so intense last night, never seen it as bad to be honest. This was taken using a 0.9 and 0.6 ND grad stacked, and it still totally blew out lol. I will admit I didn't have much success last night, 6 hours sleep in 3 days...
One from a sunset shoot last night....not technically great as the sun/sky is totally blown out, but I just love the light on the sand ripples too much to care about the sky....plus, it's how it was at the time.

Number two is absolutely belting mate, seriously good. My kind of shot. Don't get me wrong, they're all great, but number 2 stands out by a mile for me.
Silly question, as I know Lee filters are s**t hot.....do they colour cast when stacked like that? I sometimes struggle when I stack my...
I've just been out tonight for sunset....maybe it's because i've had 6 hours sleep in 3 days, but I couldn't nail the filter shots at all. Then to top it off, i've left my wallet of filters down where I was, only noticed when I got home! I bet they'll be away tomorrow with the high tide tonight :(
Don't quote me on this, as i'm not 100% certain on the Lee system, but I believe this is what you need....

Please check first though mate.
You'll also need a 77mm adapter ring for the 10-20, but...
I love my Hitechs tbh, for the money you can't go wrong for the 85 kit, and the 100 kit comes highly recommended from a lot of great landscape/seascape photgraphers I know.
Was it the Lee Big Stopper you ordered? In stock from Teamwork?
Not too sure why you'd get the hard edge for full frame...
Good luck on the 10 stopper from Lee, huuuuuge waiting list, they simply cannot cope with the demand.
Last I heard, although a while ago, Teamwork had Lee filters and systems in stock...

I'm...
You definitely want a fast lens, without question....I still think (personally of course) that 50mm is too long for in the house, unless you live in a mansion of course.
This review is not to be taken as gospel, but have a look at the Nikon 35mm 1.8...
I have to agree with Wick. I'm also a Canon man so can't comment on the Nikon gear, but found my 50 1.8 too limiting in the home, i'd look into a 35mm prime too.
As Dan says Scott, sort the horizon out and the white balance, and that'll be a nice shot. Try the "cloudy" auto white balance setting, it'll warm it up nicely, especially being a sunset.
As per the title, seen a 172 Exclusive on the wee roundabout in Hawick town centre, and a Trophy parked up next to the big car park where the rally service was today. Anyone from here?
I don't use it a lot in my photos, for me, getting it right "in camera" is what it's all about. I do shoot raw, and I do use Lightroom to process, but I don't then export to photoshop and mess about with the scene, or vibrancy and saturation.....
So is shooting straight to jpeg also...
I learnt the same way as Luke, "modding" cars, using digimods, besides that, it's all just trial and error....don't really use it in my photography besides levels and curves and to clone all the crap out of the shots that's on my sensor.
