Mate. ive had the same sorta problem for ages. Not sure if its directly due to the k&n though. What i do is turn it over, and rev it a little, not to much, just to get my baby warmer. Then it should run smoothly as normal!
I got a brand spanking new CDA-9812RB, silver face. Totally unused. Its actually waiting to go in my new car, but its been delayed and i actually really want the black one to go with my dash colour. As i said before ive taken it out once and thats it!! PM me if ur interested
Hi, considering getin some 19" rims for my new motor. But how much will the tyres be? Not the best tyres, but not the worst, sorta middle of the park. It will probably be like 8 x 19" - 9 x 19". Thanks
Can someone explain to me, the difference (if any) a turbo diesal has with a normal turbo in a petrol car. Reason is, im getin a turbo diesal car but i want to know if it is possible to treat this like a normal turbo on a petrol car. I.e. i want to put in a dump valve or wastegate (whichever is...
yeah i just ordered a Alpine CDA-9812RR for £240. Thought it was quite a good deal, but in the last 10 seconds, i just got a text saying they are out of stock. DAMN! Anyway, will have to see what they got then.
What about some 17cm 3-ways? Recommend any? I just cant be arsed to lift the...
Just got my self a new car, and i opted for no head unit so i can fit an aftermarket one. Now i dont have any ice, just 4 basic speaker setup. I have about £250 to spend tops, and i want something that looks smart and has upgradable potential. No sonys! Any recommendations?! Thanks
Need a spring compressor ASAP. Where can i get one from like hire wise. Does anyone know of one in Dartford or surrounding areas? How much are they to buy anyway, considering im skint hence DIY lowering. Thanks
Yeah i would actually go with Lockys idea. Get a fan with thermal probe as suggested, and wire up the neons to the underside of the false floor. This way you dont see the neon tube but u get that really nice glow effect. The other option is to power the neon not by switch but to the boot light...
Alright mate, i would put 2 fans either side of the amp(s) one pushing over the amp and the other pulling. You could do what i was gonna do and put the fan in the false floor. This is feasible but would take a lot of work and would be easily damaged without adequete protection.
Wiring it would...
ok, ive just brought a 35mm PI lowering kit from shop.potn.co.uk and they cost me £85 or so. Thing is, it has 4 springs!!! Now im a bit lame when it comes to exterior knowledge, but should this be right??It said on the website...-35mm drop on Clio 98-
They are labelled front and rear, but the...
Hmmm...that is actually quite a good deal Russ. I went caraudiodirect and theyre charging £400. Silly buggers! Is this ur normal price or will it eventually go up again? Thing is, ive got an pioneer amp, and its perfectly fine, just dont know what to do with it should i get the RF one.
Theres...
Yeah i just had a look at the bd series, and they are quite powerful!!
Thing is, i brought the 2112 which is dual voice 2 ohm. I currently wired it so that they are in series hence 4 ohm, which is what my amp is. Thing is, most of the bd series are only good at 2 ohm stable. At 4 ohm, they a...
No its a Pioneer old range. 2 channel amp bridged to give 1x760 W max
However i thought it served the type-R quite well. obviously this momma will take a bit more juice! In the manual, it said the recommended RMS for the 2112 is 500W RMS. Russ are you slightly exaggerating??
Thats what i was thinking exactly!! Thing is, if a sub has a greater efficiency, does that mean it has a larger dB value? Slightly consfused, what anyone like to enlighten me?? Thanks
I just got my new Rockford Fosgate Punch 2112. It is slightly more powerful than my old Type-R. Thing is, it seems that i have to really feed this sub some serious power before i get the same performance from the Type-R. I have my gain on my amplifier turned upto about half way, and my head unit...
Well it isnt that bad actually...MP3 HU with multichanger. That surely your talkin about £250?? Then with the extra leads and stuff nearly £300?
I dont like Sony ICE, but if your not into it much, then i would go for it. Its better than the standard HU and they do the rest. All you gotta do...
Mattcony, ive been looking at the Ipaq H3970 and it seems ok. But what i really want it for is navigation purposes.
Thing is, there are two packages available. The Nav-man and TomTom. Ive been looking at TomTom and it seems very good. But there are two available, the Route Planner and...
Hey i was thinking bout this too...thing is, i only want sav nat...what exactly do i need to get sat nav? obviously i need a screen, but do i need a dvd player?
Thats a beautiful definition, thanks Colin!!
So when u have dual voice coil, i presume its like playing around with 2 resistors...and using the combination as a load to the amp!
yeah i opted for a Rockford Fosgate 2112. Its a 12" Dual 2 Ohm. My dad has 2x 10" and they sound nice. This one is a bit meatier than my old Alpine Type-R, but for some reason it has blown. I havent turned the gain up that high, but apparantly its because i changed HU and because the new one has...
Thanks for the reply, just one more quick question.
Im goin to get a subwoofer that is a dual voice 2 OHm sub. My amplifier is 2 channel 2 Ohm stable. Does this mean it is a perfect match?? The sub can be run at 4 ohms, and the amp can be run at 4 ohms bridged. Am i correct?? Thanks again
Hi, can someone explain to me the idea of resistance ratings for amps and subs. Ive currently got a Pioneer GMX 762 760W amp. Its two channel and im not sure what the resistance is. I thinks its 2 Ohm when bridged.
Does this mean i have to look for a sub that is 2 Ohm stable? What if i buy a...
