thats a nice install there mate...!!
ive jus ordered a M500 actually mate and running a Rocky Fosgate 2212 500Wrms. I hope that it kicks it real hard :D
you see the thing is, the type-rs cant handle a single M500 and i only want 1 sub so i had to opt for the rocky. will post pics up once...
alright mate, i was running 2 amps and a sub from a 1.2 alternator, and it will eventually die mate. ive changed the battery once already, and its still dying. I think its definately worth investing in a proper hardcore battery like the one in the clio dci or a yellow top i think its called!
well my amp will be kickin out about 500W rms, and the type-r can only handle 300W rms according to the site.
i think i will settle for a Rockford Fosgate 2112 with 500W rms and 1000W max. bit more expensive than the type-r but it can probably handle the amp more.
any more ideas peeps?
bambam, the alpine 98** have a aux input??? How abouts would i go connecting that then? Will the lead from behind the HU go round the dash and come out somewhere from the footwell?!
thing is i had one many a years ago, and i managed to blow it, this could be due to my inabilities to wire up the sub properly, but i might go for an all alpine install...
Hi, im goin to be getin a Class D Alpine MRD-M500 mono block amp. I need a 12" sub to complement this amp. It must be in the range £150-£200. I was thinking the JL 12W3 or the Alpine Type-R. Does anyone have any opionons on this?! Will the amp blow the type-r because its like 1x500Wrms i think...
Jus booked my car in for a install at Sextons, Bristol. Thing is i need a amp/sub combo now to really set it off. Ive got a budget of £400 for both and i dont need a box, wiring or anything, jus the amp and sub. I was told that the 12W3 and e1200 setup is quite good. This comes to about £350...
i had to make that decision in the summer...it was between a 1.9tdi Golf MK4 or the MG ZR 2.0 TD
Well i test drove the ZR 1.4 and i was pretty nippy and it seemed nicely built. But there was one major major problem...my hair was like touchin the roof!! Im 6ft and i struggled to get in...
yeah mate thats exactly it. Its got 4 wires, one hard wired, one when engine is on, a ground and another one which is a bit vague. Im not too sure about this sender unit :-s
Paul, when you say take a feed off the coil pack..where about is this?! Im a bit dense when it comes to things behind...
Its a rockford 2 Ohm DVC, so i will have to see if my friends amp is advanced enough to have a crossover and adjustable ohmage. Dont think the voltage will have much to do with it surely? You are only sending a voltage signal through to the magnets, if the voltage signal is the same as the...
Hi,
My friend is having a house party tom night, but he wants more bass from his system. He has a good amp and someone will be on the decks all night. I was jus wondering whether it is safe to connect my sub to his amplifier. Will it blow my sub due to incorrect impedance matching, or will it...
jus bought a rev counter and i was wondering if anyone has installed one of these themselves?? i have the clio mk2 2000, so yeah if anyone has any tips or instructions i would most grateful. Cheers
Hon
DAB should work in any car, as long as you have the necessary digital aerials and whatever. But for that type of money you should be lookin at the Blaupunkt DAB 53. Its got a recording function aswell and a SMC slot with 128mb card!! You can get that prob for less than £350 but its a very good...
The mounting depth is not too grate. Tbh it would be best to stick with the std sized speakers. If you were to get some bigger ones like 6.5" then you would find it difficult to install, mainly due to depth. But if i remember correctly, behind the hole there is this plastic cover thingy and u...
So would you think its a worthwhile investment for me?! Ive currently got an Alpine CDA-9812RB that plays MP3s etc for long jouryneys which i do a lot, but i want navigation for when i make trips here and there. Also would you say this is a good HU to have an ICE install with?! Theres no...
thats what i was thinkin!! they have a crappy once in a lifetime signal and they track u there, and then navigate you using distance travalled!! Thats what i presume! oh and what are the maps like?! are they pretty good down to road/street level or are they a bit lackin?! thanks
Noticed that the price of these bad boys have dropped quite a lot, and was considering buying one. Model in question is the Travel Pilot DX-R52. Just wondering if they are a good idea for navigation purposes. Are they as good as GPS and how accurate are they. Also do they talk to you?! Thanks
dont forget how much of a pain in the arse it is to clean!!!! people easily over look this factor, but considerin the size and the number of spokes, u will prob need to get ur toothbrush out! Oh and when u finished ur back will hurt like a 60 yr olds. But if this is no problem then go for 17s...
Ive got the Alpine in question, and its very good! Its kickin out 4x60w so u cant really go wrong. Its really good sound quality for the price, and im sure it will look ace in the clio! Go for the Alpine mate, u wont regret it!
well when i was 16 my dad brought me a 1.2 Clio 2000 V. nice little motor for 5k.
just the other day my grandparents brought me a new Golf 1.9TDi 100bhp (12.5k)
ive never paid for insurance but i did pay for the deposit on the golf. some say im the luckiest mother fukcer alive, and i would...
Jamie, tbh when they quote like -35mm etc they dont actually go down that much precisely! seems stupid but i think theyre more of a guide! i lowered mine by "-40mm" and to be honest it didnt drop by 40mm!!there is still loads of gap at the front between the tyre and arch. it dropped a noticeable...
ZMaster, the Rb and Rr are identical, except one is black and one is silver. i got the 9812 in silver, although i wanted it in black because my dash is black. go for the black one, looks way cooler!!
if its not too much hassle, run it down the driver side so you dont get the interence. try to seperate as best as possible all wire carrying signals and the power cable. or you could if you feeling adventurous send the spkr cable down the middle of the car. but u will need to lift up carpet and...
no prob at all. i run two amps of my std battery b4 and it lasted ages, before i left my lights on for a few days, and that basically killed it. but a 240W amp should be a piece of p*ss to run!!
Just noticed this new out DIN sized screen with everything!! DVD,VCD,MP3, tuner, etc, etc! Has anyone got one of these or know anyone with one, it looks amazing but im not too sure on the quality of clarion stuff. i know its reasonable but its nowhere near top of the range obviously.
Also, if i...
i do believe that if u really CANE ur breaks then they might do that steve :D
Nah only jokin sonny, send them back and give them a good thrashing!! grrr
