I got around 35 about the town and roughly 42 on a run when the car was new but noticed it getting steadily worse and then it failed the emissions test on its MOT last week. It turned out to be the upstream Lambda sensor that was shot (£59 inc vat from GSF) and it seems to be vastly improved...
How long endorsements stay on your driving licence
An endorsement must stay on your driving licence for the following periods of time:
Eleven years from date of conviction
If the offence is:
drinking or drugs and driving - shown on the licence as DR10, DR20, DR30 and DR80
causing...
Ok, all fixed. Replaced the upstream sensor and its fine. GSF £54 + vat. Its like a new car again what a difference in performance its been sluggish for a while now.
I know this has been discussed before and have spent an hour searching.
I have a 53 172 33000 miles and it has just failed emissions miserably. There seems to be varying opinions as to whether the pre or post O2 sensor is usually at fault.
Any educated views are appreciated and if you have one...
This is the aspect ratio.
Aspect ratio is the ratio of a tyre's width to it's height. A 70 series tyre, therefore, is a tyre whose height is equal to 70% of its width. Lower Profile Tyres hence have lower series numbers.
I had a trade policy for years when I had my garage and never claimed but when I moved to personal policy they halfed my NCD for no logical reason and some insurers even refused to recognise it.
I seem to recall it being reasonably cheap (about £900) too for myself and business partner and both...
I was faced with this dillema a few years ago when I bought mine and test drove them both. Basically despite what you will read by some they are the same car with one about 80kg lighter being striped of some creature comforts.
Its basically down to personal prefrence and whether you can live...
You mention speckles on the back window too, this makes me wonder has it been **** from welding or grinding as these will melt into the screen on landing and feel rough to the touch. Has it been in a garage recently where it may have been affected by this?
Yes the Escort RS turbo was but there were many which had loads more poke than this and who ran an RS ford standard? These cars were as cheap as chips to tune being turbocharged and whilst Im not wanting to stray off topic by talking about 80s cars Im merely pointing out that 172 bhp in a small...
Lol reading some of these posts you would think there was some major differences in power. Its the same car with 80kg less in weight and as for cars in the 90s not having the same power as the cup do we all remember RS turbocharged Fords? Yes many of them had ABS too!
I bought the ff version after testdriving both at the dealer and to be honest I couldnt live with the cup interior and lack of extras for a saving of only 80kg??
That said the mondial blue is nice and I would have chosen it as a colour if it was available.
The standard rears are cheap crap, Im on my second set with 30000 miles showing and one of them is leaking. I also have a broken front spring which I put down to these stupid so called traffic calming measures. Oh and I tried the stealers when the first set went when the car was still under...
It makes no difference whether you car has abs or not you will always bleed from the furthest away wheel from the master cylinder.
While the actual sequence is not critical to the bleed performance it is easy to remember the sequence as the farthest to the closest. This will also allow the...
Sorry nearly back to normal! Just noticed the rear dampers both weeping after being replaced 5000 miles ago and skipping round bends but thankfully they are indeed 5 minute jobs.
