Tidy drives bar the mishap at the start of the first race :)
James doesn't half have some pace, how come he's seems to pull on you out of the slower corners? It's clearly not down to lack of talent.
Thought you were both running very similar spec lumps?
Grp N comp parts catalogue lists the exhaust cam as a different part ref Col. Presumably ties in with the different timing advance?
Be interesting to hear if anyones actually measured up whats different.
Inlet cams share the same part number, but the exhaust cams differ on the grp N versus Clio 2 Cup.
Did you ever get round to measuring one up to see whats different Si?
Top effort :)
Yep, that was what I was wondering. :)
So maybe something of a false economy to scrimp on suspension given the circumstances? Presumably all that understeer would mean more frequent tyre replacements from spring rates that don't offer enough roll resistance?
Fair comment :)
Surely a sensible approach - free choice of manufacturer (Spax/Bilstein/Black Art/Gaz/H&R/KW/AST/KTEC/AVO etc) with an upper price bracket so as not to limit what people may prefer/have bought currently?
Decent result considering the competition on what sounds not a million miles from the kind of spec being proposed in this thread Mark. Out of curiosity, how do you reckon you'd compare on a set of standard Renault dampers with either Eibach/Cooksport/Spax lowering springs?
See your point, but was referring to Tonys suggestion of a class in the FT. £17k is a mental amount to have to spend, but as Tony also says a balance would surely need to be struck?
General consensus seems a gen90 ecu that makes arguably little difference to a stock lump is considered a waste...
Can see Daniels point. Even so, it'd presumably not stop you entering the FT as they run a separate invitation class for cars outside of the main regs don't they? Nothing to say you still couldn't run the standard plenums/ecu.
Was thinking more along the lines of intentional rule bending John - headwork/cam profile/advance/ fuel grade?
Agree its by no means the only way of attempting to police it, but theres surely logic to being able to quickly swap out an ecu to resolve any doubts of deliberate tampering should...
Thats pretty scary you claim not to have noticed.
Surely if you were so bad on the meds and knew full well you were, you shouldn't have been driving at all?
What about when its pissing down the other 99% of the time?
Aircon is surely better to demist the car than just the blowers?
I'd not buy a day to day car without aircon personally.
