Still good after 150k? Mental! Original valves too?
Had assumed all the guides in my other head would need replacing after the valves got dinked, but would be interesting to see if any have survived intact. Not holding my breath... :p
Will have to have a nosey over the weekend :)
Fair comment, phase one lump though so chances are they'll not have been too fresh before the belt going? Ones in my 110k lump were pretty egg shaped :(
Sods law lol, but yep that should be all the bits you need - just seems that metal insert bush/spacer (the bit that broke) needs machining out slightly to suit the shaft on your new coils. Should all just slot together then.
Imagine if you were to contact Cooksport with the shaft dia I'm...
Ok, bear with me as works server makes sorting images tricky...
I'm guessing you mean like this?
The spacer (your bit that's broke) may need to be machined out to the same dia as the shaft (on AST dampers the shaft dia is slightly thinner than OEM damper shafts). From what you're...
Why couldn't the AST mounts have fitted your coils? The internal dia of the spherical bearing is the exact same as the Pure mounts/Rsport Bilstein mounts, just needs the spacer you pictured machining to the shaft dia so you can use the lower profile AST top hats.
If it's not chewed up the...
Yep imagine these will work, but the pure lower insert is machined for an oem strut. The AST shaft is slightly slimmer and the lower of the two pure inserts i have doesnt fit flush.
The flat type top hat with the plastic bearing sit flush as the AST insert is machined for the AST shaft to give...
Would have thought so, the MC from an early non abs clio is around 1mm smaller dia piston than the 172 cup/Ragnotti MC (both have 2*m10 & 2*m12 ports). Presumably be worth doing a little reading around the effects of altering piston size. :)
The one on the cup racer is 4*m10 and is around 1mm...
Wouldn't make a difference would it morgan?
My bilstein top mounts are the same size bearing as the AST. I even got in a set of the pure bushes that they use for std damper fitment and they're the same o/d aswell.
From memory the rod dia on the AST were a little smaller than an oem damper...
You'll need the flat top hat not the one in those pics, you'll need the plastic bearing that sits on top of it and then the small metal bush that sits in the plastic bearing and locates in the bottom of the bearing in your pure mounts. Lastly the machined nut to locate into the top of the top...
Is the push rod length for the 172 Cup brake servo set the same as a servo from a regular 172/182?
Manuals saying 22.3mm anyone confirm if it's the same or closer to the 20mm mark?
Cheers
What was the issue with the early Alcon units Fred? Remember you saying they had some problems when they initially ran them in the UK series.
Do Quartermaster still do their paddle clutch for the clio?
From new, how frequently have you had to resurface it and redress the pressure plate Mike?
Think I remember reading you went for the helix setup that they list for the cup car right?
