Beams are same width, its the 172 cup stub axles that are 5mm thinner to account for the rim offset. Only difference on the later beams is the extra plating underneath the stub axle pickups. Bar thickness is the same throughout.

Clio box requires sexual stick play - borderline rapey, sounds like you're doing it wrong. Failing that is the small white bush inside the gearbox casing worn? If you replace it make sure you relocate the cir-clip properly.

The 1.8 are different, smaller hub. Not sure about 2.2 dci. They need inserts fitting for the steering arms if they're for a clio.

Mine have been fine so far. Saying that it can take a while to get stuff turned around if they're busy.
