I run a 172 cup racer and think the brakes are fantastic; spoke to someone who races one in the LMA Euro Saloons who says that it needs better brakes as this is it's weak point. Pay your money and take your choice.
The reason the Cup race cars have the brake ducting that they do is so as the air goes around the curvature of the car the piece that sticks out on the outer edges of the ducts catches the air and forces it inwards towards the brakes, I'm not sore how effective CAF's are.
The bottom rose joint that sits on the extended bottom wishbone was seized so there was no movement, everyone with rose joints....keep them lubricated!
Bet this doesn't happen too often, yesterday at Bedford braking before going into the left hander before the long back straight - "Oh dear" or words to that affect!
My Cup car is painted metallic grey but I don't have a paint code, think it's from the Renault range, possibly laguna, around 2003, can anyone help?

Well, with the first track day of the season at Bedford on Monday 11th May and a cracked sump to sort out the cup car was taken to my brothers work where the cob webs were blown out of it with a new sump, oil and filter change, gearbox oil change and a brake fluid change and a general check...
