Help! Ive been tasked with finding my sister in law with a Clio - she wants to part-ex her current Megane (1.4, 71k, S reg) against a 02/03 Clio, with a max budget of £4.5k (plus £1k for the Megane I guess - so £5.5k total). Shes not bothered by spec, as long as it has leccy windows/central...

its not too light - you can get a towbar on every Clio - with the exception of the 182 and V6

but I bet all your previous cars had type approval to fit tow-bars to!

Spot on IMO - you do get noticed, but I was a bit disapointed that it didnt *feel* very quick. £8.5k-£9k trade in is about right, so guess it would be around £15k to change. I was quoted £18k to change 6 months ago though!! (£9k for a 04 182 and pretty much list for the V6!). Matt

SP60 (although should have been an SP30) & 3 points - no effect on premium - said I was ok up to 6 points! Mate got really hammered for a TS10 (traffic light conviction) though - most places wouldnt touch him!

imo £10K-£10.5k is about right - sold mine v easily for £9.5k and it had 16k miles on...

Count yourself lucky m8 - at least youre getting it back!! I sold my 182, miss it like crazy - and now have to drive a 1.6 Zafira for at least 3 months :o

You should be able to get a nice 04 182 Cup options/UK etc etc for £9.5k - or one with a few more miles for <£9k ;)

Yup - my m8 has an S3 with a bar too, although I think its just the Cupra R model that you cant get one for - standard Cupra is ok. Cant understand it personally - ok hot hatches arent tow cars, but why not set a really low weight limit so you can only pull bikes/jetskis etc?

It was in a Cup - theyre so much faster than any other Clios.... really 220Kph as Tom says (just wanted to sound ard)

Unless you want to take big risks with insurance by getting a bar custom made, you really need to swop the 182 - I use my wifes car to tow my bike these days, and if its any consolation you cant put them on CTRs/LCRs either! (used to have one on my Punto GT though!)
