    K-Tec are GREAT!

My Koncept rear spoiler for the the 172 a while back was quoted at 5-7 days and arrived in two! Nice one K-Tec.

    172 SPRINGS.

I would be interested if anyone could confirm this too. I have a spare almost new set of 172 springs and a standard 1.6 dyn and was thinking of fitting them too. Problem is you dont know untill youve gots things apart! My gut feeling is that they would fit if the spring/seats are the same...

Ideally you should get the Elf Synthetic from a Reno part dept but a good quality full synthetic should be compatible

WTF Is Wrong With My Willy!!!

Sounds to me like your clutch is "binding" and not disengaging properly when you press the clutch fully home. Are all the forwards gears OK? Perhaps the clutch is not adjusted properly which could explain the light action?

    172 Sunroof

Back in 2002 the 172 did have two additional options listed, cruise control and a sunroof. I tried to order a 172 back then with these but after 8 weeks waiting I gave up and order without. Reno later removed them from the list of options. Whether there are any 172s out there with these options...

    Do induction kits really work

The induction kit filter element is only half the story. On its own you will make more noise but usually loose power. The other half of the story is feeding the filter with COLD AIR! With this combination some power/torque gains will be found and throttle response will be improved.

    steering wheel vibration

I would get Reno to check your power streering, pump and drive belt just to be completely sure. Thats what warranties are for. Couldnt say Ive noticed this problem.

    Specific Size Bolts WHERE FROM

What are the bolts for? If they are for suspension, engine, brakes etc you need to make sure they are the correct material / tensile strength. Otherwise Im sure Screwfix will have what you need.

    coil overs or lowering springs

Both basically achieve the same results at the end of the day. The coil-overs will be capable of lowering the car more than just springs if they have adjustable seats. They are also better if you do lots of track days due to their adjustability. Coil-overs are also lots more expensive than...

    KTR ramcharger induction

What cold air feeds? LOL Both pipes, well one especially sucks in hot air! I reckon Reno blew that part of their budget by developing that stupid vacuum controlled valve, gave up and left the job half finished!

    Brake Problems

Doesnt sound to clever mate! Sounds like your caliper/pads are loose or you have a warped cracked disk. Get it to a brake specialist straight away before more damage results or your brakes possibly fail completely! From what you describe your disks are gooved and are in need of attention anyway.

    suspension on dynamiques

The Dynamique does have "sport" suspension which is firmer than standard as I can vouch from owning the 1.6. My daughter ha s a standard 1.2 16V which is "soft" and comfortable by comparison. Again the 172 is "firm " and certainly more predictable when compared to the Dynamique. So all the...

    RS ECU wont work!

Thanks Bob .... although its currently bad news from what youre sayin for our friend Scott. There MUST be a solution to this type of problem Bob? We are goin to see many re-sales of ECUs between Clio guys in the future. Whats the solution ... if any? As an electronics engineer I feel there MUST...

    clutch pedal

Slight worry my friend!:( Normally this indicates that the diaphram springs on your clutch may be broken or on the way out. These springs normally give the pedal resistance that you feel under foot. This is normally associated with clutch slip. But then again if your cable is shagged the clutch...

    clutch judder

Shorty, Im sure I read on here before that some guys have had clutch / oil contamination / judder problems due to input shaft seal problems. Unless youve heat shagged your clutch sideways on pointless 1/4 mile sessions this problem is normally due to oil ingression. The only oil contamination...

    One f**ked Cup

Paul, Sorry for the light hearted banter above! Glad you come out of your ordeal pretty much unscathed. Gutted to see such a NICE car reach its demise like this. I would be slashin my wrists if this happened to me mate. Reno may be sh*t in some respects but they cant be too wrong if they can...

    KTR ramcharger induction

Yep you could be right there Shorty. Thanks again for your comments. I just like dabbling with these sort of things .. Im an engineer by profession and generally never do / design things by half! I should really exploit these things to the full! ........ K-Tec .......if your are interested I...

    KTR ramcharger induction

That looks like a K&N element to me? A bit small though for a 2.0L. Also seen a picture of this kit fitted to a 1.6 which had the same induction/TB pipe diameter, so looks like the 2.0L uses the same kit. Surely this restricts the airflow to the larger engines? How is the cold air vented into...

    Lumpy Idle...normal!

When i had my 1.4RT it would never idle smoothly when hot, the gearstick always wobbling a bit. The problem never seemed to be consistent ... some days it would idle sweet as a nut. I put it down to ECO engine management settings too. Having said that all my 1.6s, 99, 00, 01, 02 and current 03...

    RS ECU wont work!

Hi Scott, I fitted a brand new RSport ECU to a mates Cup a few weeks ago and was initially concerned that it wouldnt start due to the immobiliser. But, fitted it and it started straight away. So either the ECU you have is faulty or they store immobiliser info from the previous car. Are you sure...

    question of power.

Does it matter?.....when you get it drive it and enjoy it for what it is! Either way it has more class, character and handles better than most Novas. Put it this way ..... Reno didnt have to get a company like lotus to get their range to handle properly. Even they still didnt manage to get...

    Lowering a cup

Had -40mm AVOs ... great on smooth roads but sh*t on bumpy B roads. Fronts bottomed out and rubbed inner liners on full lock (std 16"). Recently changed to Eibach Pro. Not much in terms of lowereing but handling is sweet! Soaks up all the bumps but doent roll as much. Lesson learned ...

    Strut braces

Mike / Ben, the OMP rear brace works on the same principle as the K-Tec except that the ends are solid "inverted mushroom" ends that fit neatly over the top cups of the turrets. The shaft tops of the struts fit through central holes. The whole lot is clamped down with the top nuts. This setup...

Speed Camera Vans - How do they work

Think most of them measure speed by laser and take photographs / video of the on-coming vehicle / plate. There is no flash hence why you dont see any operating in low light.
