Clio 2.0 RS PS2 Press release.

Maybe Jeremy Im missing somit here .... but what REALLY is the point of this exercise from Reno? It this to mark the final production of the 172 / Cup or are there new offerings on the sporting Clio horizon? From what I see as an outsider the Cup has been selling like hot cakes recently and been...

Cant you go to some of these custom exhaust places ....Powerflow? and get them to make a matching centre section in SS?

    Its a Renault Record!!!

To be honest the only Clio Ive never had sunroof problems is the 172 ..... the reason is therefore obvious .... no sunroof!! Ive had 6 Clios in the past with sunroofs and all of them apart from one (an 1999 1.6 RXE) had the odd creak here an there. My latest 1.6 takes the biscuit though! I dont...

    Magnex Exhaust

Ill vouch for Mikes comments. I have the same setup as mike, twin 3.5" cat back with Eibach Pro suspension. No knocks or rattles either! Did when I had the -40mm AVOs fitted though! My local Magnex dealer fitted the MK1 172 system to my MK2 within an hour with nil problemo!

    Give me your opinions!!

Yep the 1.6 dynamique is a closer compromise to the 172. The insurance cant be that huge a difference over the 1.4? I own both so biased but reckon the 1.6 is the best allrounder in the Clio range.

    Its a Renault Record!!!

Sympathise with you mate. Having the same problem with my 2003 1.6 dyn! However, my dealer is going to order a new sunroof frame ..... so keepin my fingers crossed :(. BTW is your sunroof manual or electric. Mine is electric.

    Problem with dealer

Report the problem to Reno UK customer services. If you look at the Clio brochures Im sure in small print the UK list price includes plates, delivery and 12 month road fund license.

    My poor arms..

Secret I stumbled on after scraped and painfull arms was to detatch the metal pipe that is screwed into the rad fan (has flex hoses either side of it) then you can get your arm right in there (oh err!) and twist off that filter. BTW the 1.6 is in the same ball park ...... if not worse!!!:( Oh...

lookin good mate. the other rims are swet but the ones on the top picture are nicer :D
  13. Flying Scotsman

    172 Dilema

Yep, because the rims are closer to the arches (due to the lower profiles) it makes the car look lower. Also the rims are physically bigger.

    172 Dilema

Gaz if your going for 17s the overall rolling diameter ideally. to retain the same gearing. should be the same as the 16s so ride height will not be affected ..... does that make sense? e.g. In general if you go up a rim size you drop a profile size and up a section therefore the RD should...

    172 Dilema

Gaz, I previously had -40mm Chassis Dynamic (AVO) springs on my 172 (with standard 16" rims/tyres) . The car looked tops and handled really well on smooth flat roads but unfortunately screwed up the handling on the twisty A/B roads (fronts were bottoming out). Handling/performance always over...

Yep that position is a good choice. I found it improved the rear downforce by 50N and added about 25mph to the terminal speed. :devilish: LOL

    172 Cup Suspension Noise Update

Gary, really need a picture of the turret top with the mount removed to see where they removed the metal. You wont see anything when its been re-assembled. whatever they done sounds like a result though:) Looks like they didnt replace the damper assy as your picture shows a rusty shaft top!

Unichip - Rolling Road (+ vids!)

@ RB, Cheers for the info. So did they have to remove the whole ECU and frame assembly or do they just remove the curved section above the ECU? Looks like the later from the picture above. Either way will probably have to remove my strut brace to allow access. The run was probably done with the...

    Scratched Cup wheels

Get the dealer to fit a locking wheel nut to a non-marked hole with the standard lock key and standard wheel brace while you watch. If it marks it you have a case. If it doesnt it proves it was done pre-delivery. Either way Im sure you have a case!

Unichip - Rolling Road (+ vids!)

RB, where do they actually mount the Unichip and where do they wire it into the ECU loom. Interested as Im going to get mine done when the new Dastek UK retail premises opens up in Scotland in July. Do you have any closeup pictures of the install. Good RR result BTW. Im running the K&N as...

    172 running rough

Mine does that all the time. No problem in the morning but if left for a few hours its like a hen on a hot tin roof until the temp guage reaches two notches then it clears its throat and is back to normal. I got Reno to upgrade my ECU and it helped a lot but is still detectable. I believe the...

    172 Cup Suspension Noise Update

A picture tells a 1000 stories ...... we need to find an owner that has had this mod done, whip of their nuts (...oh errr!) and take some photographic evidence!! 172 Cup Suspension Noise Update

.... hhmmm donno mate? I would imagine the turret tops are welded in at an angle so that the strut rods pass through the turret holes perpendicular for most models including the 172 With that slightly diffrent caster angle on the Cups the top mounts will not sit perfectly flat. Arent the top...

    172 Cup Suspension Noise Update

I would imagine it would be on the top of the turret hole nearest the bulkhead / firewall. I may be way off, but reckon this problem has been introduced due to the diffrent castor angle on the Cups? Which is going to push the top of the stut towards the rear of the car under load causing...

Seems like an excellent price if there is enough interest. I may be seriously considering NOS later in the year. Plan to get a Unichip fitted first to get all my ducks in a row with my existing zorst and IK mods. Can these kits be run from the Unichip or is it better to use an independent...
