You will notice the difference if you alter the cage to the strut tops, also it is alot of faffing about fitting a cage but i found it very rewarding doing it all myself. If your neighbour is happy to help/weld it in for you i would 100% do it yourself
The SM inlet does the same job for less money so i don't see the draw of the RS2 unless you are more bothered about having a bit of carbon in the engine bay. The money you save buying the SM inlet pays for a remap
As for price point, once you venture over £700/800 i think you will lose a lot of...
@bloke will be nothing to do with "sm motorposrt" or whatever they are called now. I have one of there manifolds and its a good product but there are a few areas i would like to alter/improve
@Tomotek i cut a hole in the bulkhead below the wiper linkage and welded up a raised platform with the correct size hole for the bulkhead plug to locate into, it then allowed me to reuse the interior and engine bay plugs. I might have a picture, i'll have a look an stick it up if i do.
@ph-reebone I have that cage and I altered mine to go to the rear strut tops with a bar joining both struts and also triangulated through to the front strut towers. I'll be adding further triangulation to the rear beam mounts over winter
@Djw John as garry said above i have a silver ph1, had no plates on and full silver cage.
Yeah the gearbox was making a loud clunk when down changing into the hairpin so came in to have a look. gearbox oil all over the place so new box time. Has been whining all year so its been coming
You on the MD motorsport tracknight on thursday? @Djw John if so i shall see you up there, will probably be my cars last trackday this year before it goes in the garage for some changes
I have seen this in the flesh before and its pretty rough. Also from the outing i seen it on knockhill from a performance point of view it was quite underwhelming (might not have been running properly though)
