I don't have a machine polisher, which doesn't help! I've heard the blackhole is good, can you buy it in Halfrauds etc?
Cliotoby, I haven't had a black car for years myself (1275GT in 1980 & two XR3is between 1986 & 1996) but just bought one so will have that to do as well Ha!
Cleaned my daughters 1.2 16v pearl black in the following way. Wash, clay bar, wash, Autoglym paint renovator, Autoglym Super Resin Polish, Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection. It's lovely and shiny, but somehow not as black as we hoped. We saw plenty of Clios at FCS that looked SO much more black...
Hi
My wifes Mk1 has been hard to start for a few days, then today when we got it going, it revs at 3000rpm. Went to my local garage, who thought it was the idle speed control motor (stepper motor) so have changed that and it's the same. Any ideas? Help much apreciated
I changed washers on both my daughters Clios, (Mk2 Ph1 & Mk2 Ph2) with washers from Citroen C4 part number c6438ca, they work really well much better than standard. I told the Citroen dealer I was member of C4owners.org, he had never heard of it, but gave me 10% off anyway, so worth a try!
Looks very nice, I like grey Clios. Nice Excel also!
What colour have you done the wheels as I was thinking of doing that sort of colour on my daughters 1.2 Dynamique?
I have had lots of cars without ABS and as someone else said, I didn't die once! It can be slower to stop in some circumstances. Its not meant to be a sustitute for driving! Learn to cadence brake

Hi looking at your thread & liking it. My 1st car was an Orange 1973 Mini 1000 (back in 1978) I had the head flowed & it made a huge difference. The centre speedo would go right round past the ignition light! My 2nd, 3rd & 4th cars were two 1275GTs & a Clubman Estate!
Hope you continue to enjoy...
The starter could be stuck on the flywheel ringear. With ignition off, put it in 4th & push it back & forwards a bit. If that's the problem you should hear the starter click off from the gear. Hope that helps
That looks lovely! What did you use for the wheels? My daughter has a 1.2 Dynamique in black just like yours & I would like to do the wheels for her
Just noticed the gear lever as well-great
You are so much smoother & faster through the bends, but he pulls away on the straight, well done to get past him in the end! I don't usually like these track videos, but I watched all of that!
Looks really nice, I had an XR3i (MK3) in 86 & another (MK4) in 90 both black. Never got a Turbo, but a friend of mine had an XR2 Turbo. Even the XR3 didn't hang around as they are so light compared to modern cars.
Both my daughters have a Clio
Age 20 has Mk2 Ph 1 1.2 8v got when she was 17
Age 18 has Mk 2 Ph 2 1.2 16v got when she was 17
Both want a 182 but can't bear to get rid of first car!
I had something similar on a Golf GTI, where the back end would really step out of line alarmingly. Cured it by having a 4 wheel alignment setup. Not cheap, but well worth it.
