If I got better mpg in the Isle of Man it'd mean I wasn't trying!!
The average mpg was on 27.4 when I left and after ~350 miles there it's down to 25 something... so must've been early 20's while I was there :dapprove:
Aye I don't live on the island, I was just there Thursday to Sunday as I was photographing the rally. Should hopefully be back in July, possibly for a week :)
I'm surprised you didn't spot me, I always end up doing 3 laps of Peel trying to find the way out - not many sign posts! I nearly drove down a pedestrianised bit :o I was wandering on the beach for ages too! Me and my friend tried to find somewhere to eat in Peel yesterday but it all seemed to...
Nope, Metro based, Williams (as in the F1 team) developed the shell and structure in conjunction with ARG. The V64V engine used in the car was later used, in modified form, in the Jag XJ220. Over 24 years since the first prototype
You won't save money buying lenses for a D80 as they are the same lenses as you'd buy for a D40. The main advantage in lens terms with buying a D80 is that you can use AF with such as the 50mm f1.8.
And another vote for Sigma 10-20 for a wide-angle lens.
Very easy to clean it yourself, lock the shutter up, use Eclipse fluid and pec pads/spatula, 2 minute job. Or pay a service centre ~ £30 to do it for you.
and what if you breakdown with an electrical problem and don't have a 12V supply?!
I have one of these...

.... got it when it was in the halfprice sale a few months back. Batteries last ages and it produces a good light.
Is the woman on the homepage having a poo? She looks like she's straining a bit?
D70 is a very good camera. Check how much it's been used before you buy a second hand one though, the shutters don't last as long as the more expensive Nikons.
Sigma 10-20.
From the reports I read when deciding what to buy the Sigma performs similarly to the Nikon equivalent and I've certainly got no complaints with the image quality.
If you're organising another one let me know, can't promise 'owt but I know a bloke who can sometimes get Steam Racket prices reduced... he saved me about 25% last time I went.
The Tamrac Expedition 7 is 41cm size inside so would hold the tripod inside at a slight angle I think. They cost £99.99 at Warehouse Express.
Alternatively you could just get a bag for your tripod, the shoulder-sling type?
Tamrac stuff is good and some of their products have a facility to carry a tripod on the outside of the bag - the Expedition 7 I use can do this.

Thanks, Nikon D200.
If you're at that spot again try doing pics on the inside of the corner, you can usually get some nice arse out ones, here's one from the same corner on the Grizedale Stages last year
Ah yes I recognise the location now, the cars are coming from the opposite direction to when I've been there before. I got plenty of pics (around 800 oops), here's a couple:
Whereabouts in Grizedale were you?
I started off in Comb, then went to Grizedale North then raced back up to Greystoke for the last stage, excellent action all day :)
