I thought the D60 and D40 used the same sensor type so not sure how one is more light sensitive than the other. Ken Rockwell talks bollox sometimes....
SB600 is good, the only problem I've had is that it isn't really powerful enough for some of the uses I have but for normal use it should be fine. The other disadvantage over the SB800 is that I don't think the 600 can be used as a master flash if you're planning on eventually doing multi-flash...
the brakes failed on the last event and it went into a rock face at around 70mph so it's had to have the front end rebuilt. Hopefully it'll be ok, will speak to Shelley (co-driver) tomorrow and find out, but yeah they've put an entry in.
a) yes, but not so many these days as I've got other photography things to do
b) previous knowledge or driving the stage the night before - which is why my car is often forest coloured :o ... or for the Isle of Man events I usually drive the whole route just for fun anyway.

Boring fact... one of the pics I posted yesterday in "Some rally pics" was taken on that stage this year at the hairpin right in "flat L 30 HPL 50 HPR"
I've been using non-Nikon batteries for 4 years and never had any problem. They last longer and were around 20% of the price. And if you do have a problem and are worried about the warranty put the original battery in before you send it for repair?
42,983 on one and 27,547 on the other... one camera ~ 2 years old and the other a year.... and that's with cutting down on rallying this year :dapprove:
The Sigma 70-200 doesn't compare to the Nikon version in my experience, slower to focus, not as sharp, not as accurate in when shooting high fps... I guess this is why the Nikon is double the price of the Sigma.
The only negative on the Nikon is that I know a few folk who've had problems with...
The V6 has been rallied on lower level rallies - I saw one on a rally near Wigan, it spent most of the event facing backwards after spinning :S
