I've got an 8800GT 512MB at the moment and with the sales coming up thought I might upgrade it to a 9800 GTX+ 512MB but I'm not sure I'll see enough of a performance increase to bother?
I like to play at 1680x1050 where possible.

Had an update last night. Macester/Sym0n may be right. They've found the hacker did gain access via an unsecured script on our web space. They can't yet tell us what the unsecured script is and are keeping our space suspended until they can. It took them all day to get back on their feet :S
We've got a complete backup of everything including the mysql tables. Not sure what you need to know but this is the forum software we use: http://www.simplemachines.org/
To be honest I know very little about hosting so MS2003/IIS6 doesn't mean anything to me. How much would you be wanting for the hosting? Do you do domain name hosting as well at all?
It would only be to host an SMF forum and a few web pages, possibly a joomla frontend as well.
Annoyingly I can't check our usage stats as the whole client area is displaying a lovely hacked message but the bandwidth used is only about 3GB a month so we'd be looking at 5-10GB to be on the safe...
Our web space & domain host has been hacked today so our site has gone down. Can anyone recommend a proven secure host that doesn't charge the earth? Preferably UK based so we can phone them if need be.
My Mrs has a new laptop with Vista 32bit on. Now, every day all day long it's prompting her to install some Office updates:
I've searched the system and cannot find any office products installed, not even readers. If she chooses to install the above updates then they install but straight...
Just want to thank everyone for the help.
My spangley new netgear platinum switch arrived today and works a treat. I've now got network printing on a spangley new lexmark all-in-one :)
It's got 4 on the back. I've lost the manual but I seem to recall it saying the blue and green were reserved for sky services of some kind. The yellow ones are for connecting to pc's of which there's 2.
What's the switch you've got Mike?
I think you misunderstood. I can access the router but Sky do not tell you the authentication details, they are apparently embedded into the router and the only way to locate them is to unlock it which carries a risk. So if I bought a new modem/router and plugged it in I wouldn't be able to...
Sky don't give out the username and password so short of trying to unlock the router which is sometimes fatal I have no way of knowing it which means I can't replace the router with a non Sky one.
I've just gone through Linksys tech support and apparently turning off DHCP on the Linksys turns...
I've got one of these doing nothing in the cupboard, could I connect that to the existing router and then the 2 pc's and printer to it or is it overkill...
We've got a Sky Wired/Wireless Netgear Router that only has 2 ports, both of which are tanken (mine and Mrs's pc's). Mrs also uses a wireless laptop.
I'm looking at getting an ethernet printer but obviously have no ports spare. What do I need to buy to give myself more ports? Could the laptop...
That fix was included in Vista DVD's a long time ago. I got mine at the start of this year and it was already included. So unless you're unlucky and get a very old one there's nothing to worry about.
I've got a Tom Tom One 3rd edition thinking you couldn't go wrong with such a well known brand. How wrong I was! I had problems with it out of the box with it crashing. It took lots of trial and error with updates to get it working. Works fine now with the exception of it goes flat very quick if...
Talking home use have you seen the size of installed games these days? Easy to see how home users would need 1TB+ if they're into their gaming. Add on to that some music, downloaded tv shows (skyplayer), photos etc
