Try check the belt tension. Its hard to see or get down there I know. I had my bumper off so I could grab it & twist it. I could see it flapping slightly while running too.

So you say the full accessory kit was replaced, tensioner, idler pulley too?
I only needed a tensioner but I bought a new full kit for mine and fitted it myself.
Is it still a constant loud squeel now?
That'll be your Aux belt. When was it last replaced? may also be your tensioner starting to seize causing the belt to slip. Same happened to mine few months back.
I used the Laser removal tool on my sisters Puma after she lost the key. done the job fine, although I did use an impact wrench which made it alot faster & easier. Its a pity i'm away for the week as I would of lent you mine.
I never rely on the dash 'oil ok'.
As mentioned, check the dipstick when the engine is cold to be really sure. and make sure your on level ground to be accurate. If you know it needs a service, then a full oil change would be best.
Yup slam off is a must. Alternator unbolted made it much easier for me too. Also, with the o/s engine mount still off, jack the engine up slightly on the aux side gave more access.
yeah its likely that the climate control fan is buzzing away. Most on here suffer from the same problem. Search for a guide on greasing/cleaning it. If it doesnt help, just replace it. Or turn the music up like I do :)
what are viper blades? Do you mean the parking position is too high? pop off the caps on the end of the wiper arms. undo the nuts, splash of wd40 and pull off the wiper arms... they can be very tight. adjust & re-fit making sure they're located on the spindles correctly. It might help to note...
Ive just done my 172's aux kit. Im pretty sure they're the same set-up.
Where are you doing it? Be prepared for very confined working space.. its tight! Make sure you have a good range of tools (Hex, Torx bits & sockets etc)
You can do it without taking out the arches. Just gently prise them back to undo the 10mills. Dont forget the torx screws that run in the arch and a few underneath. Also the 4 10mm's on the undertray and the 2 clips under the bonnet on the grill panel.
Or I could show you if your around the...
Tom - I would go for a full kit - new tensioner, belt and idler pulley.
Mine started doing the same thing - squealing first thing in the morning. Then it was getting worse when putting the PS under load moving slowly. My aux belt had been replaced late 07 and still appeared in good condition...
Yeah same price as dealer. I found my left rear shocker leaking recently too. Looked almost everywhere for a spare one. But I couldnt be sure how long a used one from a breakers would last.. and had a feeling my right side would pack in soon after! Decided to just get a new pair from the dealers...
