The exhaust trims are clipped into position, the clips are a rubbery plastic, (same as the fog surrounds). You will need to move the exhaust rather than the trim.
I had this on my old fiesta with Cosworth wheels, one of the rear wheels was noticeably more pushed out, and I was told it was tolerances, just a lot more noticeable when the car is lowered.
A few pics of my BG182 and a mates 172 in London graffiti tunnel i visited over the weekend.
Pictures were taken with S3 so crap quality, also i hope the pics work! (new to photobucket)
C and C welcome!
The steering wheel, drivers and passengers inserts just prize off.. im not 100% about the centre console, may have to remove the head unit but im sure someone can confirm this.
As said, BTM in Birminham would be the place to go. I would personally go eibach sportlines for great handling but they only drop -30mm. If your after more of a drop, have a look at some coilovers.
Yeah that's my biggest concern, i know my car and a new car could be problems. But im weighing up if its worth the gamble and like you said, i will then have money spare for mods ;) think i just need to man up and go for it! LOL
Currently own a 05 182 FF with under 48K, had the car a year, no problems, just had a service etc., tidy car, needing absolutely nothing!
I haven't taken part in any track days yet, but it's something i would really like to get into so I’m thinking to sell up, get a phase 1 and start slowing...
give the threads a good clean up to try and remove as much s**t as possible (an old toothbrush works well) and spray some WD-40 over them and letting them soak for a while.
I have VMaxx on mine, use my car as a daily and don't do track days. I would say they are good enough for what you need. Obviously the ride will be slightly harder, but still comfortable IMO.
why not buy a 172, keep on your driveway / garage or whatever and you can slowly mod that to how you want for when the insurance is right? You can still do subtle mods to your 1.2 (lower, wheels...) Just remember there's more to just buying and insuring, running cost of a 1*2 can get expensive...
yeah i did see the VRS's, yeah im from Salisbury. Been to the meet a few times, it's usally a good turnout.. but most the cars are less than nice haha. Will you be going to the next one?
