The Trophy shockers are expensive to change or rebuild. The rest of the car has similar costs to other RS models.
This thread will shock you http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?581681-182-trophy-suspension
You can't do it yourself unless you have laser eyes :D Checking and adjusting the tracking will be a half hours work and will cost about £45. Fitting cam bolts and adjusting them is another half hour. Depends how low your coilovers are really, Do they have adjustable camber bolts already...
If you lower the suspension then that will give you neg. camber. The more you lower the more negative camber, and that will wear the tyres on the inside, also if the toe in/out is excessive the tyres will also wear excessively. Now youve changed the ball joints that should help. You still...
Original settings will be fine mate. You will find the camber at the back will end up at about -0.5deg which is perfect. the front between 0 and 1deg. which is also good. Toe in/out should be straight + or - 0.5degree. If youve fitted the springs correctly and all the rubber bushes are good then...
I bought a Cat C Cup that had the same damage as this one and also has S/H, bills etc. The paint is not that good but bodily is ok, the engine a nd gearbox are fault free. I only use mine as a track car so was not concerned by it's history and had no problems in a year of ownership. The main...
I like the other vids that come up next to this one, especially the Nissan Independant suspension one. No Cups there!
As for the Clio Cup--- It feels rather soft to me on the track after a 172 Cup.
File about 1 mm. each end so there is a little play in them. The shims aren't really necessary as they usually cause squealling. Give the carriers a good wire brushing to remove dust. Drive carefully after fitting them as the brake pedal will feel wooden, they do take a while to bed in.
Check the battery is not on it's last legs, if it's the original then it will be at least 5 years old now.. If it's not driven much or short journeys the battery will not be fully charged.
Looking at other Renault forums, 197 gearboxes are having problems regularly with 3rd. & 4th synchros and are being changed through the Reanault warranty. So 200 gearboxes are becoming problematical as well? As Steve @rsport cars says, Renault do change them but what happens after the 3...
If it's staying on the road, then a non Cup with as many options you can afford. If you are a track day ***** then a Cup with no extras, I would remove some of the standard gizmos to make it more track focused.
Twice unlucky, I do feel for you you. Really the only way to get anywhere with these garages is see Citizens advice or a solicitor but as you're a busy bloke sell it as it is and start again. I can only offer tea & sympathy. Good luck mate.
