Very similar to that, wanted a 182 Cup after my RT at first, couldn't justify higher fuel bill, tax, repairs, insurance for a mediumly quicker car. Went out in a mapped 80 and that sealed the deal. Picked one up private a week or 2 later, lucky really, xenons, climate control etc. I managed to...
I'd test your battery. Followed by cleaning all your battery terminals and main earth, aswell as all your operating wire and feed from your alternator.
I've fit a new alternator before now, but because the battery wasn't getting charged with the gammy alternator, it knackered the battery. 10...
You say you've changed the drivers side wheel bearing, when you corner right, the weights on the left, they'll get noisier. I'd jack it up and start spinning, front and rears.
Coil pack cracked? They usually go on the bottom, they can run ok for a little while then start arching out on the block. Take the T30's out and check it over, after you've checked all the basics if your still stumped it might be worth getting it on a diagnostic machine.
Yeah as Brian says, when you turn right, the weight goes to the left of the car, and when you turn left, the weight goes onto the right. Get it jacked up and give all the bearings a spin by hand, if its bad you'll easily be able to tell which ones gone.
At a constant 56mph the 65Bhp will do over 100 mpg - or so Auto Car or whoever it was tested it to, if you could bear it with the lorries in the slow lane. I've had 76.6mpg but got bored after a while.
If its completely gubbed you'll feel it, and it the top part flys off, the arm will clunk and bang loudly when turning. You shouldn't be able to pull the roll bar down with your hand.
Ring up GSF mate they'll sort you a pair out www.gsfcarparts.com
If you've got a trolley jack, axle stands, a socket/spanner set you'll be able todo it yourself.
Renault's paint & corrosion warrenty can sort my car out in 10 years if need be. For the time being its virtually the same as black kro.
Minus about 10 jet washes and the tyre foam. Car cleaning sucks ass.
Depends what your after, the 100s box isn't great to use, best suited to motorway cruising work really, its doubtfull you'll find one anyway. If you munch motorway miles and aren't bothered about keeping with 1.6 Clios get a 65, you won't struggle to find one either. If your after 70mpg+ and...

As Rollo says sounds like your manifolds gubbed, your sure the joints not just come loose? or the gasket blowing?
Batfastard is yours a 65bhp? I'd start checking your pipes aswell as the pipe that leaves your air filter down to the turbo, if these split it'll give you a loud whistle, check all your jubilee clips are on tight holding all the pipes on.
They basically pull themselves apart Iain, they can just loose the top part of the bolt and you'll be able to pull the roll bar down with your arm - not good. As Ulle said, only cheap, worth doing them as a pair aswell.
Theres 2 types, the pin and nut type can be a git to change on your own...
Yes and No, the 1.6 Laguna box is different to the 1.6 Clio/Megane box, different positions on the gearstick (reverse down and right) and ratios are slightly different. JB3 on your Clio/Megane, whereas the Laguna is a JR5 box.
The trouble with the engines on eBay is you can never be certain of...
They're common for alternator pulleys failing if that helps, I'd change the belt first, cheap and easy option.and while its off check all the tensioners and pulleys by hand.
Gearbox is different for a start, not many 1.6 lagunas about as they didn't do that engine for long, unless you've sourced one? Would it not be easier to get a crash damaged 1.6 16v engine. IIRC Lag 1.6 is k4m711 and Clio 1.6 is k4m744 or 748 but can't remember.
