FYI, I've known a fair few replaced under the TN Note, without the customer persisting, read it properly, it clearly states when they need to be replaced. Pencil coils and turbos are only under TI, the bonnet catches are actually TNs.
If it was that bad they'd 'recall' all clios, but as its...
Fred - Rovers are pish but easy money, now all the dealers are shut, KV6 cambelts on a weekend, 2 of, easy £600 ;) or 214 clutches, I undone 6 bolts and it almost fell out
Gav - Yeah I tend to agree, I haven't seen him since so hopefully his thermostats jammed shut
Gav it was a Rover 75 2.5 V6, I used the bloody Xpower 10w40 Stuff aswell, if Rover/MG use it, hows it the wrong rating I don't get. I'm guessing it was A2 and he read his handbook that said A3. Bit petty don't you think, but would you agree with him?!? can see his point in a way but still...
Oilman, I changed the oil and filter on someones car and left half a 1L tub in the footwell for topping up etc. A week later I got a phone call, basically saying I'd used the wrong AC/BC rating or whatever it is, he'd been looking in his owners manual (makes a change). I'd never even heard of...
2 Red sports with BBPT stickers on bonnets, heading towards Rugby down the A45, possibly Trophys couldn't see in the wet.

Blue 182 Sainsburys 04 plate
Red clio sainsburys with Racing sticker on the back
Black 182 with private...
Chances are you'll struggle to find a decent 100bhp DCI, not rare as such just not many about, and as Edde mentioned unless your a mile muncher you'll probably prefer an 80
Right theres 2 drains from the sunroof, both at the front, one on each side, did you push the pipes back on all the way properly, and made sure they won't slip off, maybe a small cable tie around them both. Where they disconnected or blocked when you first had a look at them? Do you park under a...
The 1.9 n/a in the Mk1s are bullet proof, most sound like tractors now though - if you can live with the sound you can't beat them for a workhorse. Freds got one I think, and I've seen a few on 150k ish. Regular oil and filters the way forward.
Orange clip on the airbag, ideally you want to lock the airbag computer on a diagnostic machine but not many people do, even with access to a machine.
Have a good look at the orange plug, some have an outer part which you lift/slide then it should come out, a tiny screwdrivers your best bet.
What? A recall doesn't just mean replacing a part, theres loads of recalls that just involve a check, to see if somethings not been done, not adjusting properly... then if need be replace the part, which is what the recall involves on the Clio2. When they check it, if its deemed necessary they...
Have you got, or looked in your service booklet? Should have a pinkish cover and say maintenaince and service on it. If not I'd goto Renault, any work they've carried out, at any dealer, is recorded. No joy after that I'd ring the previous owner.
Any invoices????
Renaults more than likely the only place to get Elf, try a specialists on here will probably sell you it. Its doesn't have to be Elf really, GSF sell gear oil for about £4 a litre but its cheap stuff really.
Yeah as Middo said, you need a stanley knife, a bit of fuel pipe and some super glues optional. Remove the sunroof, you'll need to push the little red clip in, you'll see the the little rod with a washer on it, move that to one side, then measure the length of the rod, and cut that amount off...
Yeah I've got Elf TRP 75w80 when I changed mine a few months ago and its fine. Its supposed to be TRJ but thats cheaper stuff. Can't go wrong with millers aswell
