If the covers rubbed through and the wirings chaffed I'd just gob loads of electrical tape round the loom to stop it happening agian. It'd be ideal if you could waterproof it but before you do make sure you get all the moisture out. WD40s good at protecting from water, and getting rid of it.
Wouldn't fiddle with the drivers airbag mate, as you say theres no need to get the dash off, just take the cowlings off the column and away you go, I wouldn't even bother disconnecting the battery as Joshy said.
I replaced a mirror assembly the other day and it came with a new sensor so I chopped the old one off half way up the loom and saved it, PM me your address if you want me to send it you.
As you look at the back of the engine (right at the back, last thing attached to it) you should see 2 block plugs on a computer, covered by a metal cover. Sam stick your hand between the bulkhead and the engine, its in the gap so to speak.
There the 2 block plugs that fill with water, although...
Yeah I wasn't saying they're 'bad' they're a good idea just ashame they cause the vibration through the car though, Renault bushes aren't that bad if you compare them to say, Ford Fiesta wishbone bushes.
If you like it then its spot on!
Do Ktec sell uprated Lag2 rear axle bushes?
Yeah, it puts more stress/strain on the other 2 mounts as that allows little to no play, ie they die quicker.
If it was that worn you'd of noticed better gear change, better clutch operation and better acceleration with a genuine mount, and not have a vibrating car.
Edit- technically theres...
Yeah you can but from Renault you'll pay a fair bit for them, Try GSF www.gsfcarparts.com, for a lot cheaper you'll find some of the parts come in Renault boxes anyway.
Yeah he made it sound a bit worse than it is though, theres 2 little nuts that hold the lever down, they work loose thats all, bad design they should of use nylock nuts
Yeah and the best bit is all the Clios on the pitch have them Edde hehe :o
Seriously though they stick like s**t to a blanket, never let me down anyway and it gets seriously thrown about a few roundabouts down my way.
Is this for 15"s on a 1.6? If so the conti contact sports as you mentioned stick like glue. No-one on here likes them though, and they can wear out pretty quick, its worth getting them on the front, and cheaper (mabors - made by conti) on the back.
I'm not too bothered about how clean it is, and how shiny the alloys are, when was the last time all these Racing Blue owners changed a set of plugs, done an oil and filter change, can they even manage to dip the oil :quiet:
I'd rather have a dirty car that hasn't been washed (for 5 months)...
Bloody hell it looks good Kev I could see people on the other side of the road making the effort to look lol. Bet it shifts too
I'm ready for a passenger ride whenever you are hehe :o
2 '06 plate 197s in Rugby, one was going into sainsburys earlier today. The other one tootles about now and again.
1 Blue R26 with decals and a Private plate
1 Yellow R26 with decals on the '07 plate - looks so good in the flesh. Kev your new car?
Sounds stupid but plugs/tyre pressures/oil & filter/lights & levels.
That lot won't cost you anywhere near £150 either. If you lower it properly it'll handle better aswell, torsion bar can be a bit of pain todo sometimes but its worth the effort.
