^As above. Red means positive, I'd clean up your old one, with a wire brush/file or get a genuine one from Renault or Halfords for a cheap one.
You can usually clean them up though
So if the tractors a slightly different 'model' could it still tow the trailers of the older ones? Ie could all the tractors shown pull all the trailers shown?
Yeah get a mate to sit in it and rev it up (not now) and you look underneath and see if you can see it blowing anywhere. If you can hear it in the car quite loudly you should be able to find it quite quickly.
Get it jacked up made, spin each wheel as fast as you can by hand, listen for a grinding/crunching noise. (get a mechanic mate to help) constant says to me wheel bearings. Does it do it when the cars stationary aswell?
Does it sound like exhaust blow?
Not a massive improvement it now covers most of the engine and looks shite. The rails slightly different as the injectors weren't too clever on the older one and a few other bits
Its now got a little picture of a spanner with a line threw it and scares most people.
Still a solid engine.
We compare it to the 182 (me included) but to me its in a totally different category, I'd call it a hot 'family' hatch or something similar.
Just don't see why they settled for 197 when they know they can get 260+
D047 Think you've got that backwards mate, are you saying a 172s faster than a...
It'll get faster as it loosens up, I've got a mate in a cup whos swears by that its really loosened up at 65k. Now on 70k
What would you have given your 182? Compared to the 197
Sort out 6th gear would be the main thing
Yeah its far better suited for that, as you said better width helps it glue to the road, better brakes & overall suspension. I'd say its a better car, but they should have made the engine to suit.
Renault going half way again with 197 bhp, ffs they can get 160+ easy out of that engine.
Sorry...
I don't agree. How can it be faster with only 15 more bhp and weighs as much as a tank. Not as much grunt/harsh acceleration as a 182. They've messed up 6th gear aswell. I had 3700 rpm at 70mph - not for me
Yeah the 197s a better car but it just can't pull its weight, should have put the 2.0...
If you can as soon as you get the shock out the way move it to the side and hold it in with one hand, and put a brick/axle stand under it.
Like you said, if the hub drops a fair bit the shaft will pop out - keep the hub up
Put some bricks under it mate or zip tie it up
edit-watch you don't loose gear oil, & don't panic if your n/s driveshaft pops out just turn it till it goes back in.
Are you getting the springs already set up around the shock or fitting them yourself? You'll need spring clamps and it can be...
