i have just checked my front pe2's and have covered 15k on them and just over 4mm left, i dont think buying 15's for maybe 1 track day and year and track rubber will be cost effective. i may just finish these off on track in aug/sept wich ever i can get booked into and purchase some new decent...
i was looking for some 15s as aware much wider choice of track day rubber and cheaper.
i have seen 182's with r888s at local trackdays, i wouldnt wish to run a narrower tyre have seen 195/45 for sale but the only 16s i saw were the 55 profile which increases tyre wall from 92.2mm to 112.7mm i...
when looking for a set for the 182 16"s they dont seem to do 205/45/16 do they? i couldnt find them on camskills.
so do you use 205/55/16 aspect ratio is higher meaning higher rolling radius?
i think some 5.1 absorbs mositure etc more than a 4. prob some compromise with the boiling point for racing etc so to make sure its at its best you should change it more often. i think some 5.1 are designed to last longer though i have some long life stuff in mine.
i picked up my stainless steel hoses for £49 from hose solutions and used opie oils for brake fluid.
if you live near gsf you cant beat their £55 for brembo hc discs but for some ds2500's yozza does seem very good value for money, save even more by getting your brake fluid from him as well...
some long life dot 5.1 i used for my last change was good value for money Motul was the brand and needed 1litre for my 182.
depends on your use i guess if you do some country roads blasts/rives or maybe a little track use im glad i opted for 5. if its just road use and commutes etc 4 will do fine.
i went and picked up a set of brembo hc front discs for my 182 direct from gsf they even had them in stock, total cost was £55 for the pair and thats was without any discount over the counter i just called in on my way home from work to see what they had.
also some uprated mintex fast road...
modern fuels dont really suffer with crap in the bottom of tanks and you have a fuel filter so i wouldnt worry about the fuel side. sounds like maybe mositure has found its way into the ignition system.
take the plugs out and dry them, also the leads and make sure non are cracked maybe a touch...
dont think you get huge gains mate, maybe 4-5bhp a a few ibs of torque.
not sure what if any other mods you have done but on a 172 i would get a panel filter, have your inlets matched and followed by an exhaust.
prob more gains from above and then when funds allow have it chipped you will...
i was looking at the engine gdi have built for matt in his time attack clio which has everything from forged bottom end to bodies and it runs std leads.
those from last year were without offical trackside access which he had this year so was much closer to the action/better locations, all fcs pics including entry/static and track ones will be up by end of the week mate.
im sure he wil post up on here when they are done with a link, he used to...
i have added a yozza decat to my 182 with a btb exhaust system, its fairl quiet and i would recommend one.
depends what exhaust syetem you use though depends what sound you haveand if it suits your driving/commute.
i love it with the btb but i know some are louder and can be annoying, a de...
dont think the rs inlet manifolds were used until later 182's and trophys
there doesnt seem to be hard and fast rule which 182 had them and which didnt prob just random frenchness but i think all trophys had them. just a chnage in the casting i think during the production run.
i dont think...
get a small mirror and have a look under your inlet that are on your car at the minute, if there is an rs logo i wouldnt bother, if there isnt one i would prob buy them.
the rs stamped inlets are a little better.
i had fitted brembo hc discs, some mintex pads along with stainless steel barided hoses and some 5.1 fluid and they are much better now.
depends what kind of use your car gets the packages from yozzasport seem good value but i think german swedish and french were cheaper for the discs.
i had a 106gti for 5 years before getting my 182 ff about 14 months ago.
pros - its a bit bigger, the engine is much more usable and its quicker.
cons - does drink more fuel (super unleaded) and to be honest i wasnt happy with the brakes and put on a country road and i would still take my old...
lad on here i think works for them and can do you one at a good price, the advertsing stuff states its smoother than the ridged original but to be honest i bought one in black because i like the look of them and it certainly cant do any harm but dont hink it make and power increase the ctual...
i heard some reviews that dry grip was very good, wet grip as you expect is a compromise and was not the best.
some people found they could actually rip sections of tread off after track or very spirited driving.
look sexy though
it may also be on top of tyre condition which is very important and technique do the clios have brake bias valves? i know my old 106gti did for those that dont know about them they measure weight over rear axel and adjust the amount of braking the rear does in accordance with the weight, reduce...
