What bulb fitment are you all looking for?
I have a few sets for sale at the moment that are H4 fitment in either 4.3k or 6k, prices are very very good. I can get other fitments but it wouldn't be till I order some more in.
If anyone is interested PM me.
My folks are looking for a new PC at the moment. Basically it will be used for general internet browsing, photography stuff, word processing etc so nothing that needs much spec tbh, though if its a decent spec I might use it a bit more myself for some games and stuff, lol. They're looking to...
Is your mates RT fuel injection or a carb model? I think there were a very limited number of carb models made in the 1.4 so just wondered with your post about the choke. If its fuel injection though I would agree that the CTS is a good place to start.
Depends on the colout of your car if its just for looks that your doing it tbh. With certain colours it looks s**t hot imo, but with others it really doesn't go well.
replied over on clio16valver as well in more detail but I would say go for a mk1 and try and get a hybrid or a williams. if you hold out for a good one it will be reliable enough and should be quicker/more fun than a 172 IMO.
Tbh I've not fiddled about with the power steering on any of my clios so can't really help you too much. In future it might be worth you while asking on williamsclio.co.uk and clio16valver.co.uk as well as here as they are both Mk1 sites and have a lot more mk1 knowledge.
Nice pics, my old man had a normal accord 2.0 of the same age when I first passed my test - always wished he had got a type-r instead, lol.
I had forgotten how big the aerials were on them, my old man forgot to put his down when he went into a car wash once and I'm sure you can guess what...
Yeah, I believe the megane head is actually meant to be superior to the williams from what I have read. A lot of people who go for throttle bodies go for a megane head for that reason I think.
Just came across this on my PC so thought I would pop it on youtube. Just a few runs I did a couple of months ago, think I still had the interior and spare wheel in at the time and was out for a bit of a blast on the old private track.
Would have had a few hundred RPM left at gearchanges as...
It does sound like something to do with the pump. Is it staying between the min and max all the time? Have a look underneath the car to see if you can spot anything leaking aswell.
You can make a 2.0 that way, but its not quite the same as a williams engine as a williams engine has slightly bigger valves and I believe it is meant to be a little better in terms of airflow - not really a huge amount in it though. The third option is to use an entire megane engine but you...
No I wouldn't necesarily say so mate. A lot of people will still pay up to £4k for a good example. Every now and then some people manage to pick up a bargain like the one mentioned for £1500 though as some people selling don't know how much they can get for one.
Tbh I've never found it to settle any noticable amount on the back so lower it to the amount I want, but then again I suppose I've never paid a huge amount of attention to it really. Either way there is always a bit of trial and error involved and I quite often redo it a couple of times till I...
Where are you based mate?
If you ask on the sites I mentioned above there is a good chance of finding someone local who would consider doing it for you.
I was a bit confused by that aswell tbh but I spoke to the guy and he said that the uncorrected figure is what it ran on the day but the corrected figure is what it would run under standard conditions (i.e. air temp, pressure etc etc set to the standard used for testing bhp)
Tbh you can sometimes get train fares for a very reasonable rate if you book online and booked the train for a certain time. When I went downsouth to pick up my car it only cost me about £20 for a return ticket to doncaster and petrol would have been more than that for just the way down.
If...
Tbh I was the same but my instinct just seems to tell me that somehow (god knows how, lol) they record very low figures at the wheel as mine is 20bhp down on last time in terms of figures @ wheels but yet seems spot on. Over on clio16valver.co.uk someone else found the same on some maha rollers...
Tbh I'm not going to argue with you as you know a hell of a lot more than me about this sort of stuff, I do however know that they measure figures @ the wheels and will never give a value that is "spot on" @ the fly as there is no way to measure transmission losses 100% accurately, i just used...
I don't know how they can make low figures tbh but I've seen it mentioned in a couple of places - as I say I don't know too much about RR's. And mine is a Mk1 btw so not 12bhp down on stock ;) . As I say though I'm still fairly confident in the figures we got as the figures @ fly seemed spot on.
Thats why I was asking before as mine seemed a lot lower than expected - mine was 128.7 @ the wheels and 171.1 @ the fly. Last time mine was on a RR it made 149.5 @ the wheels and 172 @ the fly.
I was discussing this on another forum and after doing a quick search and from what someone else...
Will have a think about it and drop you a PM about price in a bit but not really sure on price yet, or even selling it tbh.
Yeah Niall works at Halfords - how do you know that? lol
I've always done it with the damper on but it can be done with it off by removing the lower mounting bolt. I just use a jack to raise/lower the hub as it makes it easier to adjust it accurately.
DC2 made 195bhp. Think he was hoping for a bit more but he changed the manifold recently and said there was a noticable drop in performance so thinks that might have a little to do with it.
DC2 is a little quicker than the hybrid but it is completely stripped with only a drivers seat at the...
Cheers mate, didn't get a chance to speak to you on sat but was going to ask how you boys were getting on with the turbo?
The two wheels are because the tyres are needing replaced on the willy wheels I had on the front so I just put some old alloys I had lying about on for now as I'm a bit...
Basically:
Measure distance from hub to arch
Remove bar and raise hub by the amount you want to lower the car plus a little bit more as it never goes as much as it is first raised
Put bar back in and do the same on the other side
Once both sides have been done re-measure the hub to arch...
