Yeah thats kind of what I thought as I know the the light output is inversely proportional to the k rating. It was 6000k I was after before but I'm thinking I might give them a go anyway as they are only costing me £50 so can't really complain, also it means that if I don't like them I can sell...
A set has come up for sale local to me at a very good price so I'm thinking about getting them but I'm not sure how good the 8000k ones are. Has anyone got a set/seen a set and what do you think? are they too blue?
Also, if anybody has got them have you been pulled over for them at all...
I think it was Justin 182 I spotted last night. I was going for a chippy and spotted your car parked up with the xenons on, plate was "T10 ***" iirc.
It was down near Napier Uni.
Really good video, everytime I see those videos it makes me wish I was involved in some sort of rallying as I love giving it some beans along thosed sort of roads, but you obviously can't push the car like that apart from when the road is closed off for a rally.
I usually get the filter off by putting a screwdriver through it and then if I can't get it out the bottom I take out by the headlight where there is a gap between teh headlight and radiator. If you can't get it through the gap you can remove one of the bolts at the top holding the radiator on...
I've got a powerflow exhaust on mine and its top notch, fits perfectly and sounds really nice. It seems to be a bit hit or miss though depending on where in the country you are so I would try and get some feedback on your local place first. Mine had the exhaust on when I bought it so was...
Possible the TDC? The fact its turning over more slowly might not be a faulty battery/alternator but simply the fact you've been trying it so much. My suggestion would be to try jump starting it and then let us know what happens when you try.
Not sure if your current one will fit, you could fit pretty much any other Mk1 gearbox (from diesels, 1.2/1.4/2.0 etc) or a 172 cup box. Though it might depend on the speedo setup you are using as the Mk1 and 172 cup is different to most 1*2's but not sure about the other Mk2s.
Out of...
Just to note that my comment was about the fact that it was put in a Mk2 clio. In a Mk1 I don't have much against it, though tbh I would go for a williams/R5 turbo engine over it but thats just my personal preference as I am just going by what I've read about lack of tuning options for the...
I assume you meant where it was located previously? Theres no point tbh. If you are handy with a set of spanners then it's a piss easy job as long as its not seized.
About gearboxes it depends how you work the loom etc but if you use a Mk1 setup or a 172 cup setup then you would have to use a Mk1 box or 172 cup box (either of which will fit). Or if you use a later setup you could use any box from across the Mk1/Mk2 range as far as I am aware as any Mk1/Mk2...
Tbh spending that sort of money on it I would sell it, not worth it in the slightest. You could easily sell it and get a Mk1 like mine for example and it would be a lot cheaper especially if you can do any work on it yourself. Insurance I can't imagine would be much more that £100 a month, no...
This has come up loads before - try doing a search. Basically it is not illegal to have a decat necessarily as some cars will remain below the emissions leven even with a decat. Unless you are caught by someone who can test your emissions then there is no chance of you getting in any sort of...
If its in good condition it's an amazing price. Bearing in mind its a proper williams and all the work thats been done to it I couldn't see you getting better value for money in a Mk1. If I had 3k and coudl afford the insurance I would definately be considering it.
My money would be on the starter. As said above try hitting it with a hammer and rocking it back and forth in gear before trying to start it. If you have a voltmeter you can check the battery or if not it would be worth trying another battery in there.
Either way if it bump starts fine it...
I've not driven either but I would think more than likely it would be a DC5 unless it was attrocious to drive as I really like them and am not a big fan of the looks of the 197.
Basically I am in two minds about whether to keep the clio or not. I have recently had the old owner in touch wanting to buy it and a couple of PM's on here from people wanting to buy it after I mentioned the possibility of selling it. However, I'm not sure if I want to keep it or not.
If I...
Yeah I know what you mean. Tbh I use williamsclio.co.uk a fair bit and retro-renault.co.uk as well and only rarely have a look through clio16valver, though I've been on there a bit more recently.
I'm on my third over a period of 2 and a bit years:
Mk1 1.4rt
Mk1 1.8 16v
Mk1 Hybrid (Valver with a 2.0 williams engine)
None of this Mk2 gheyness ;), though I would have a vee!
No, its a clio forum, and with the williams being a fairly rare car the majority of us would like to see them being kept in mint original condition instead of crappy 17's being put on. Unfortunately it will always happen though.
