Isn't this like the whole hard disk RAID argument? Surely four cards means a four times higher risk of failure, but losing only a quarter as much? I'm sure someone even geekier could tell me!
Anyone got one? Was thinking about getting one when I get my Imac in January but wasn't sure how it worked. Are you meant to keep them on 24/7? Sounds like a bit of a waste of energy?! Surely just firing the thing up once a week to do it's business would be alot better. Can it work this way...
Call me a defeatist but if all else fails just go to istockphoto and for a couple of dollars a photo you can get stuff that you could never hope to achieve with no budget :D
Well written post! I have had a 172, and apart from a few minor quality issues, it's been a thrilling daily drive for the last three years. I don't think it is a decision you would regret.
Need to order a new Xenon headlamp - the old one on my Ph2 172 just cracked and fell apart inside with no provocation at all, failing the MOT - wtf?! The dealership are asking me whether it's adjustable on the dashboard as their are two different sorts. Not as far as I know?! I'm pretty sure...
Without traffic independent shop sites are just dead in the water, and quality traffic costs much more than the website setup. You are much, much better selling on ebay as someone already said, or at least directing people from ebay to your site :-)
Anyone tell me? I'm just doing the yearly insurance quote drudge and noticed that previously I left the immobiliser box as 'none'. Surely it must have one? And might it be Thatcham 1 or 2, if it does?
Thanks!!!
Steve
Ah hard disk failure on a Mac. You know I'm just about to take the leap and get one, but the only thing that's disturbing me is the thought of not being able to keep a collection of filth on it, in case it has to go in for repair. Anyone care to enlighten me on their methods? :D
Retarded question: Does a cambelt change mean the oil will be changed too? It's going in to a Renault Dealership to be done on Monday, and they are so hopeless that I have given up waiting on the phone to get an answer out of them!!
This is true - I have two identical systems in every way in the office, except one has raid and the other does not. Using each heavily back to back with Photoshop, there is just no noticeable difference. I'm not saying it isn't there - but day to day it's not significant enough to register. It...
There's not too many if you are in contract. The app store does most of what installer used to do. I'd keep with your warranty (which you will lose if you jailbreak). I have more incentive with my old iPhone 2g because im giving it to someone on a different sim!
Hi!
I have a jailbroken 2.0.0 2g phone. Are you meant to upgrade normally to 2.0.1 using iTunes then re-jailbreak using winpwn, or are you meant to use winpwn and it's ISPW images from the outset and this takes you up to 2.0.1?
Thanks!
Steve

Maybe the pointer thing is something you get used to; for now, having it move in an unpredictable way is very disorientating! Have you ever drawn anything freehand - I can't imagine how it would be possible, having it whizz of every so often... at low speeds it's extremely slow, then it suddenly...
Hi Guys,
I've been checking out my mates new iMac, and overall I'm pretty impressed. One thing is bugging the hell out of me though - the mouse acceleration. What's the big idea in making the pointer suddenly move like treacle as it slows down? I can't see how on earth this would making drawing...
