Got mine last week - awesome quality. Bought a duplicate set this week though and absolute crap - a white line running down every print, and slow to reply back to my complaint too. So watch out for quality issues. After you have got the freebies, I've been much more impressed with...
I can't think of an occassion I *wouldn't* want IS! - 2 stops or four times the shutter speed is a no brainer if you can stretch the extra cash. I have it on a lens and it's something I'd never want to be without again if I can help it.
Thanks! It's obviously been cropped pretty hard for the purposes of the forum. The full photo is here: http://steveyme.deviantart.com/art/Daisy-Filled-Sky-84827000
Just bought a Vostro 400 for someone today. Mouse, keyboard, C2D Cpu, 3GB ram and a Terabyte hard drive for 200 odd quid (+vat). Just wiped Vista and installed XP and by God, it runs like the blazes too. Bargain of the century!
Yes it can still be done:
"It can still be done if you do need to though. Just make a page that has two frames with no borders. Make the left hand one only a couple of pixels across and make that the music playing page, then make the rest of the >site open in to the frame on the right. That...
As long as you don't change pages.

These are the instructions I have used many times and it works well:
Just follow these steps to create an MP3 playlist and convince Windows, MacOS X, and Linux browsers to play the songs in sequence, in the background, for as long as your page is displayed or until the end of the last song...
Major touch and iphone earphone mixup here. Can anyone confirm that the Touch's earbuds *don't* have the mic attachment on the right hand wire? Thanks!!
My logitech one didn't work at all until I did a firmware update on it - then it did on my frosted glass mat. So they can *sometimes*. Do a google if poss on the one you are about to go for.
I think the same version of that 18-55 but version II with the IS is meant to be pretty damn good. A 50mm 1.8 is also great fun for not much money, but you have to zoom with your feet!
Just went to charge a flat battery in a Puma, and I'll be darned if in the manual it doesn't say that at least if you are jump starting you shouldn't put the minus on the battery minus, but instead on the engine mount. Never heard of that before! Does it go for recharging too, - something to do...
The first one is a bit harsh on the HDR, but it's a nice shot all the same. I'd tone it down a tiny bit. Out of curiosity was the any detail to recover from the blown out sky?
theduckeatspork is right mate - where in the original photo is there points so dark and so light that you need to use HDR to recover details? The answer is nowhere, and that's 99% of the reason a lot of people aren't having much success. You need to find a scene with incredible bright and dark...
Really interesting 2nd photo excellent stuff. Have you got it in RAW? If you could rescue the foremost web from blowout in the sky, it'd be even better. What lens etc?
For the record, they were having none of it! They weren't adverse to the idea of price matching, but as soon as I mentioned Ebay they switched off, which is fair enough I suppose...
This is probably a stupid question, but seeing as I'm about to buy a new 100-400mm on ebay this weekend for £800, is there any point at all in going into Jessops with the cash and asking them if they want to do the same deal (they have it advertised at £1000). Anyone with any experience...
I should add my mosquitos were appx 1mm in length btw - more like tiny fruit flies.
Nice pics - I have a Canon 100mm macro. But they have to be in flight, sitting still is waaaay to easy ;-)! (Having said that, what level of magnification is that on the second 2:1 using tubes?)
Found a cloud of tiny mosquitos last night. Seems almost impossible to get a good shot to me. Shutter speed needs to be 1000/1sec at least, but with that speed, the aperture has to be wide open, which makes focus a lucky dip! Can't see how I can use a flash, because it limits my shutter to...
Devastatingly fast and sharp lens. Giveaway price. Check this one of my cat - see how trees and chimney stacks of the buildings on the opposite side of the road are visible in the eye reflection. And that was handheld, no tripod, no flash!
Love this sub-forum. Everyone is really upping the game. Every time I try and visit beauty spots at night there's bloody doggers there - not a good place to be strolling around with a big assed camera setup!
